The work of MACUA\WAMUA has highlighted how disproportionate power relations between affected communities, traditional authorities, and government entities, aid the systemic exclusion of communities. @DMRE_ZA @CALS_ZA@PresidencyZA@GwedeMantashe1#MACUA#MiningSocialExclusion
I'm pleading with DMRE to monitoring Sefateng Mine in Sekhukhune district under Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality and see what mine do to Community of Mampa,Phasha and Tjibeng because what is happening is very ashamed

RE: Mining Affected Communities are once again the Big Losers after Pretoria North High Court sets aside Mining Charter.

When the communities were asked about how exactly mining was
introduced into the area, one respondent said, “For them to come operate here, they work through political ways, because municipalities are also
authorities.” @DMRE_ZA @SOMO@ActionAid_NL@AA_SouthAfrica

The MACUA-WAMUA Advice Office (MWAO) is seeking to add data capturers to its database to assist with capturing data collected from social audits undertaken in mining affected communities around the country. @NicolaSoekoe@CALS_ZA@Sifiso_sponts@Ice_Izo
I vividly recall in an interview hosted by @Eusebius @DMRE_ZA DG said Dingle ton community is the best model where the mine and community are happy with the operation. This evident he is far fetched from the reality on the ground.
Every year the 16th of June sees the commemoration of Youth Day. This year’s event's aim was to facilitate a dialogue on safe spaces between governments, Mining industries, civil society, and -most importantly- youth groups, with the goal of offering practical solutions. #YAMUA
Community consultation between the parties must significantly be improved. Regional government must assume a leadership role in coordinating the efforts of fair compensation; appropriate compensation packages must be provided to impacted communities. @ThisLand_Doc@The_SARWatch
As governmental intervention is often miniscule, most of the responsibility rests with mine management to ensure that land use conflicts are effectively prevented and resolved and in most cases they often exploit poor communities.
