@RidgeLLP@EQUANS_UK Instead of the current gas radiators, we get electric heaters. All the like-for-like pledges have been thrown out the window.
Talking of windows, the new ones are far smaller than the current one, "for planning reasons".
So our £25k portakabins will be dark & dingy too😧[4/4]
@RidgeLLP The contractor Engie, now renamed @EQUANS_UK, stated in its literature that the new bathroom would be replaced "to match" the existing one.
Now the council claims this was never stated, or only refers to the "timber-framed modular structure".
Basically, like it or lump it [3/4]
External consultants @RidgeLLP the council to offer "a range of standards as well as designs so like-for-like replacements can be agreed with leaseholders".
The current £950 "higher specification" has 3 colour choices, exactly the same bath, & a slightly less basic toilet [2/4]
In 2021 @haringeycouncil said our new bathroom pods, which we must pay at least £25k for, would get interiors "at no extra cost".
Now they plan to break this promise & charge us £950 for a so-called "higher specification" - i.e. not the bog standard in their show pod below [1/4]
For years @haringeycouncil told us it couldn't afford to build brick replacements for our old pods because it would have to decant us for weeks.
Instead we had to pay towards new temporary pods that would supposedly be craned in the same day as the old ones were craned out (1/3)
Every bit of food counts. When you donate to our #emptyplateappeal you are supporting organisations like @rehobothclub which delivers over 400 meals weekly across 5 homeless hostels & to vulnerable families struggling in Lewisham.

The first bathroom & kitchen pod being craned into the back of a property today in Morley Avenue, #NoelPark...
...two years after we found out we faced bills of up to £118k for major works including our own bathroom pods.
The #fleecehold saga goes on.
#LeaseholdScandal
Now it looks like these bog-standard designs have already been pushed through, & we have no hope of complaining.
We're being expected to pay £25,000 for portakabins made of chipboard, with gaps between the panels & no insulation.
It's nothing less than extortion.
#Fleecehold
Noel Park leaseholders have seen a prototype of the "modular extension" we're being charged £25k for.
It's pretty basic for the price, with an electric heater & a shower for the waist down only.
More aptly described as a construction-site toilet?

Our point of contact is the Residents' Liaison Officer at @EQUANS_UK. Trouble is, she's uncontactable.
Our messages go unanswered for weeks, then months. We're wondering if she even exists.
Communication has been dire throughout this process. Sadly, we're used to that🙁

So why has the pod viewing been such a closely-guarded secret? Have any #NoelPark residents yet seen behind these grim hoardings?
The website claims @haringeycouncil has "worked with residents throughout this process to ensure their individual needs are considered"...

Celebrations at @haringeycouncil over the temporary pods built by @EQUANS_UK. The link says: "Residents... have been given an insight into how their homes will be transformed."
As some of the 243 households affected, we would have welcomed a chance to view the new pod...

I get to look at this every single day so here grows a challenge to @EQUANS_UK please remove the plastic & donate it to be reused then commission a professional gardener or firm to lay grass turf or shade tolerant wildflowers or a fernery to increase biodiversity 1/3
Haringey Council has been told by the Local Government Ombudsman to take “urgent action” to improve its complaint handling or risk making “repeated failings”. The ombudsman upheld 29 complaints against Haringey Council in the year to 31st March – the 3rd-highest number in London
