The brain drain in Africa is primarily due to the failure of the continent's intellectual and ruling class, not the distracting influence of a social media algorithm engineered by a tech villain in America.
Nigerian government did NOT provide a dime for this trip.
This is the USELESS govt that sponsors every bullshit they can find.
See what a private Igbo individual has done.
WHEN these children return and start excelling, some people will say "Igbos are trying to dominate us.."
A Nigerian teenager was thrown in prison at 14 years old and his name was changed by the police and prison officials so that his family will never find him.
He was only released 18 years later. Why is this story not trending? Jesus!
Multipolarity doesn't mean Western people will become poor.
It means they will become normal.
It means a Congolese engineer and a German engineer will negotiate on terms that reflect their actual value rather than the legacy of who colonized whom.
It means the dollar will be one currency among several rather than the rent the whole world pays to America for existing.
It means European countries will have to make foreign policy based on actual relationships rather than the assumption that their preferences automatically constitute the international consensus.
Normal.
The horror with which this prospect is greeted, the language of civilizational threat, of decline, of loss, tells you everything about how far from normal the current arrangement actually is.
And who it's normal for.
The US ambassador to South Africa is now openly meeting with white separatist groups.
I have warned and warned because that's all I can do. Whatever will be will be.
During the time the Mandilas building (in Victoria Island, Lagos) was under the ownership of John Basil Mandilas, a Greek, the Lagos State Government didn't consider taking over its ownership.
Mr Onuorah Okafor, a Nigerian from
Anambra, bought the building in 2020 through a loan facility from Zenith Bank. Between 2020 and 2024 he was paying back the loan from the income he made from the building.
But in 2024, a year after Tinubu became President, problems started for Mr Onuorah and his company, Area FM Radio, through which he bought the building.
First, a mysterious fire gutted the building. Second, while he was trying to rebuild the parts damaged by fire, the Lagos State government sealed and illegally demolished that section of the building.
Well, he wrote to the government and got its approval to rebuild that section. Of course, this didn't happen without Mr Onuorah parting with some huge amounts. He appealed for the government to sponsor the reconstruction since they did the demolition.
The government promised to do so, but didn't. After he waited in futility for the government to fulfil its promise, Mr Okafor borrowed extra funds from the bank and rebuilt the demolished section.
As soon as the Lagos State government saw that he had completed the reconstruction, they came again. This time, they are claiming ownership of the entire building!
What the h£ll is this!✍️
Someone once said that previous Nigerian presidents were controlled by cabals, but that the Tinubu presidency is a cartel. They argue that the alleged "GbajaGate" is only the tip of the iceberg, claiming it reflects how the so called Lagos Boys have created special purpose vehicles (SPV's) to loot Nigeria's commonwealth while asking ordinary Nigerians to continue making sacrifices.
They are in Rome to participate in and represent Nigeria at the International STEM Olympiad competition, but no government has shown support. Other countries sent government officials to support their own.
I'm forced to believe that the Nigerian government does not want Nigerians to be educated and refined. They want a country of Agberos and wretched paupers they can hire for thuggery and other political evils.✍️
I got stranded one weekend and needed to make an urgent transfer, but Zenith Bank decided to misbehave. I called my girlfriend and asked if she could lend me the money, promising to send it back the moment my transaction went through.
She said, “I don’t think I can.”
I asked why, thinking maybe she had a genuine reason. She replied, “You know I don’t like taking money out of my savings.”
I asked again just to be sure I heard her correctly. She repeated the exact same thing.
I simply said, “Okay,” and ended the call. A few days later, I ended the relationship too.
It wasn’t even about the money. It was realizing I couldn’t count on the person I was planning a future with when I genuinely needed help.
The coding competition has started for the International STEM Olympiad Grand Finale in Rome, Italy.
It’s beautiful to see bright minds challenge themselves.
Next year we will have our children compete in the coding competition as well.
"Everything is agendified".
In a world where literally the food you eat and the type of sex you enjoy is either heavily influenced or directly determined by rich people on another continent who own all the means of production including GMO patents and Pornhub.
The problem with a lot of you is that your minds are far too small to comprehend the size of trouble you are in.
You know nothing about the world you live in. You just exist mindlessly inside it. Like vegetation or shellfish.
I was talking to my Bro Toyyib @taadelodun this morning and we explored the dynamics of living abroad as an average Nigerian. UK is working system where you work and can comfortably pay your bills as long as you keep working. But if you miss 2 weeks of work, there is a problem. About 70% of your income goes to rent. The bills never stop, so most people's lives revolve around work. How do you afford to not work?
Some couples don't spend enough time with each other because husband is doing day shift and wife is doing night shift. Toyyib told me about a couple who only see each other on Friday and they live in the same house. Before the man gets home, the wife has left for shift. Before wife gets home, husband has left for shift. Friday is the only time, they get to actually meet.
In a system like UK, the kids belong to the government - whether they are born in the UK or not is irrelevant. You don't have power to discipline them. Even their teachers do not. Amidst this hustle you are doing, the system is raising your kids.
You are doing all these and still committed to family and friends back home. People don't even celebrate Christmas and New Year with family because the shift that day gets you twice your normal pay. What they do is take pictures with pyjamas for social media and rush to shift. It is really not easy for many people. UK would make you realize that a month is short because bills are paid monthly. You do all these and years pass, your children leave the house and you are still not rich.
I don't want to make this too long, but it is an interesting comparative reality.
