@HenricCont@FredTheLobster If an airline issues miles (spent into existence by the sole issuer), redeemed miles (paying taxes) are deleted from existence, but it never has to get miles back before issuing more; the same miles are never re-used; they create new miles. Policies control miles in circulation.
@HenricCont@FredTheLobster Just like the national “debt” isn’t a debt; it’s public money that wasn’t deleted via taxation. Who is owed? It’s just the amount of money that’s been converted to t-bills, which is easily converted back (like a savings to checking transfer) if desired.
@HenricCont@FredTheLobster While true that banks create money via loans (that money is uncreated/deleted as it’s paid back), that’s very different from HPM (high-powered money) created by the monopoly currency issuer (the federal government).
Here is a video to get you started 😏

@rastus_malone@FredTheLobster@Steinernomics@JKash000 You’re citing a 237-y/o relic to support your understanding of modern macroeconomics. 🤦♂️ When the US first created our currency, how did it get dollars from “taxpayers” when they didn’t have any yet? Currency is spent into existence *first*. Taxes then remove some from existence.
@BlogPickled@Steinernomics That mentality is the equivalent of saying, “Modern medicine could have saved my grandfather from the cancer that killed him, but because it wasn’t available to him, it’s *unfair* for anyone else to benefit from it.” That’s how idiotic opposing student debt cancellation sounds.
As someone who lives in an A.L. East city:
The Orioles are going to be major problem for every team in that division for years to come. That farm system combined with owners who spend?
Dear Lord.
@bradynewps @Capitals Yep. Players love this guy. I just hope the fickle fans don’t turn on him when we hit a rough patch; many were already calling for his head after the first 5 games of the season. It takes time. I love this guy.
@Ianvincentscott@FredTheLobster OK. 😏 These folks are in the UK and address macroeconomic reality and operations from that perspective. Might want to try listening to their first few episodes so that you aren’t so misinformed. https://t.co/kAMzE6LpKq
