Founder of Timashov Publishing. We craft board games in Canada. Also write Inside the Box — weekly stories, behind-the-scenes, and a comic about the hobby.
That’s Photo Tour — our cozy, strategic board game now live on Kickstarter: https://t.co/BvvdNhcOpm
Love exploring new places? 🌍
Photo Tour takes you across North America — from glaciers to canyons — letting you collect memories and iconic sights in your own travel journal.
I shared more about both projects — and why I’m doing this now — in the latest issue of Inside the Box.
If you're curious how indie games really come together — it’s written for you.

The second project is new. I’m testing a format for digital-first print-and-play games.
Each game gets its own season — about 3 months — with weekly content you can actually play.
Small additions. Short rules. Just enough story to give it context.
We’re starting with four games:
🪸 Pacific Ocean
🧬 Synthesis
🌱 Habitopia
👽 And a brand-new sci-fi one we haven’t shown yet
It’s early. But I think there’s something here worth exploring.
I wrote about the emotional reality of this phase in the latest edition of my newsletter Inside the Box.
It’s short, honest, and comes with a weekly comic about a stressed-out indie fox.

I just finished the final file checks for DNA, Habitopia, and Synthesis.
It took a month.
It felt like a burnout marathon.
But I’m proud of how they turned out.
TL;DR:
• Moved to Canada with no job or connections
• Launched Pacific Ocean as a total unknown
• Funded Photo Tour for $200K on Kickstarter
• Took a risk with 3 new science-themed games
• Still doing it all with a tiny team and big heart
I spent nearly a week writing the most honest thing I’ve ever shared about my board games publishing journey.
It’s not your usual “About Us” page.
It’s the real story — from moving to Canada with no job, no network… to building a board game company from the kitchen table.
If you’ve ever dreamed of starting something of your own — or want a look behind the scenes of indie board game publishing — I hope this speaks to you.

The Photo Tour is LIVE on Kickstarter! We have already unlocked some fantastic stretch goals, and more are coming. These were crazy first days. I slept 4-5 hours per night. Thank you all of you who have already backed the project. 24 days to go!
