@Podnews Thanks for sharing this news. We are incredibly grateful for the time we spent working on Timber and the incredibly welcoming community of podcasters!
Sadly, our progress vs the amount we were spending were just not going in the right direction and we knew we had to stop.
my radio/podcast angels - where are you pitching narrative stories? am i missing out on a new show that accepts pitches? Newest I can think of is the 11th. Has the growth of podcasts not grown the pool of shows to pitch to?
@MarcSollinger and @stereophobe talked to @mjseidlinger at @timberpod all about how we made the first season of Archive 81. The one that's been adapted into a netflix show.

What does it say about Hot Pod's posture towards indie podcasters that @ashleyrcarman and the @verge failed to even notice in today's Hot Pod Insider that @bellocollective is ending it's run?
(The biggest indie podcast news of the week, honestly.)
@WeWatchedAMovie@netflix Thanks for this review! To add to it, here's the backstory of the creators of the podcast behind the series. https://t.co/9rozVXkR5j
@TheFienPrint Thanks for this review! We did a little piece on the people behind the podcast and where their inspiration came from. It's nice to see it line up with some of your observations: https://t.co/9rozVXkR5j
To write an audio drama that becomes famous and gets picked up by Netflix, you have to have a wealth of knowledge and life experience, right?
Wrong. You can find inspiration in the quotidian.

@arithisandthat@ashleyrcarman@verge@bellocollective There's the hits making side of industry, and the platform side of the industry. The platform side lives on the backs of indie podcasters, and it's a disservice to them to not even notice that one of their champions .... well you know what we mean.
While we're on this, @nwquah used to offer ads in Hot Pod for a few hundred dollars.
@TheVerge won't even talk to advertisers for less than $50,000.
Guess indie podcasters will be advertising elsewhere.
