🇺🇦🇷🇺 BUDANOV SAYS RUSSIA’S DEFEAT IS A MATTER OF TIME
"Russia's defeat is no longer a question of if, but when, and they know it very well themselves. Russia's professional army ran out, they have no strength. Even if the fighting continues, Russia's future has changed forever." - Kyrylo Budanov 🇺🇦
That is the part Moscow cannot bury under propaganda: the war has already transformed Russia, drained its professional army, and exposed the limits of Putin’s power.
Ukraine is still paying a brutal price, but Russia is not walking out of this war as the same country that started it.
On Thursday, I voted for the Ukraine Support Act, one of only 18 Republicans who sided with Democrats in the House to advance aid for Ukraine and strengthen sanctions on Russia. The bill passed the House by a vote of 226-195 and provides critical support for Ukraine's recovery and defense while increasing pressure on Russia's financial and energy sectors. Supporting our allies and standing up to authoritarian aggression remains an important American interest.
On this day we celebrate democracy, civic engagement, and values that have shaped Danish society for generations.
But most of all we recognize the Danes - people who bring these values to life.

FREDERIKSEN: Why Denmark is, in many ways, at forefront when it comes to helping Ukraine. The way I look at it, and I have held same view on this war since the beginning, this war has never been about Ukraine.
Russia wants to fulfil their imperial dreams of making bigger Russia. And the only way to make bigger Russia is by attacking other countries.
Therefore, I don’t believe they will stop with Ukraine. I see this as European question for all of us. If we allow Russia to decide the future of Ukraine, then we have allowed Russia to continue into other European countries.
For me, this is a question about future of Europe. That is why we have been so active in ensuring that you can fight this war, and that is why we will continue to support you.
🚨 The House just voted 218-204 to move forward on the discharge petition to provide military aid to Ukraine and impose tough sanctions on Russia. The House will vote on final passage tomorrow. This is our Churchill moment and we must pass the test.
”Last year almost 500 000 Russian tourists were let into Europe, while Ukrainians were dying on the battlefield. This situation needs to be stopped.
That is why we, together with 10 other Member States, have put forward an initiative for new EU visa restrictions for Russian citizens.” @JohanForssell at JHA

🇸🇪⚡ Swedish proposal could ruin Russian summer
Migration Minister Johan Forssell (M) is now coming out with a Swedish initiative that could hit Russian tourists hard in the EU.
Last year, 477,878 Schengen visas were issued to Russian citizens.
Forssell: “It is completely unreasonable that Russian citizens are enjoying luxury holidays while Ukrainians are dying.”
Sweden wants EU countries to be able to deny visas based on nationality — something that is currently not allowed.
The proposal has the support of all Nordic countries, the Baltics, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Poland.
Why Sweden is pushing this:
– stop Russian luxury tourism
– reduce security threats and espionage
– close loopholes used by the Kremlin
– make a political mark during ongoing wars
Forssell: “We must put an end to Russian weekend trips around the Mediterranean.”
What is happening now:
The proposal is at the EU migration ministers’ meeting in Luxembourg.
If it goes through, Russian travel to the EU could be severely restricted — perhaps as early as this summer, depending on processing times.
In short:
Sweden wants to close the door to Russian tourism.
The question is whether the EU dares to take the step.
