Dog enthusiast, gamer, owner of too many fantasy novels and lover of reheated pasta. My unattainable goal in life is getting a correct answer in Only Connect.
@Ricky123Ski @amuse I think they primarily waste the public's money. I'd love to know how many additional firefighters and resources could be added to the LAFD's arsenal if they stopped throwing money at DEI.
@Bishop_Beesley@BBCNews You seem to have forgotten that businesses remained afloat and successful with 100% of their staff WFH during Covid. Your logic is flawed.
@lilyoftheveil17 Why? People do not own exclusive rights to food, music, fashion etc based on their nationality. The entirety of human history is defined by sharing of ideas across cultures. It's irrational to take offence to this.
@6ixbuzztv How incredibly fragile people are today. Is it cultural appropriation for someone in Taiwan to open a hot dog stand and put Asian ingredients in a food item which isn't Asian? Hell no. Cultures, cuisines, ideas collide. They mix and are adapted. This is life.
@alyssa_merc@thomasmahler@xIngenue Is this not what happens in any company? Leadership sometimes disagrees with other senior figures in their team and sometimes subordinates don't like it. But it isn't an inherently bad thing, nor does it indicate that a person is a bad person.
@pcgamer I don't see it as a bad habit at all. We're not celebrating abritrarily or out of cruelty. We're celebrating because, as a collective, we're generally fatigued with publishers trying to force more live service games on us. Concord is a game nobody was asking for.
@StuartArmour@metoffice There's nothing official from any relevant bodies and the pollution forecast from https://t.co/QVwz7UMxt0 is green across the board today. Seems like it was nothing more than sensationalist nonsense published by the usual culprits!
@alyssa_merc If the show was good, people would have watched it. It really isn't any more complicated than that. This is what happens when vainity overtakes sense, and someone clumsily tries to buttfuck their ideology into an established franchise.
@StephenKing I'm about half way through 11.22.63 and just wanted to say, I think the school dance scene was frigging wonderful. It was a reminder of why I love reading. Going to take my dog for a walk now with 'In the Mood' in my head.
@XboxP3 I had cancelled my GamePass sub which has run for 5 years, even at times when I wasn't playing many GP games. I can't ethically keep a rolling sub to a company that conducts itself in a way which is objectively harmful to the industry it purports to celebrate.
