I just felt it was a shame that here was good opportunity missed to dig a little deeper in a way that isn't just point scoring as it tends to happen often elsewhere--esp. to your point about distracting from momentum and victimizing people in the process. A decidedly a tonedeaf comment from someone who got his doors opened by Peter Thiel. Easier to "earn" Success when other people were/are shut and kept out.

Of the number of solutions proposed-- the show at any rate-- one of the most disruptive approach to "democratizing" capital comes from a black VC and @chamath insistant on leveling the playing field for everyone I wish they spent a some time acknowledging that aspect.

@therealMASmith @theallinpod @chamath @DavidSacks The point here is not to disempower Chamath's success or ability but to highlight that if talent and work ethic are the only two indicators of success, that statistic @chamath put up wouldn't be so skewed to white people (77%!) saturating the VC world.

@therealMASmith @theallinpod @chamath @DavidSacks Quite the opposite. His boss paid off his student loans (for starters) to give him a break. Chamath even produced numbers to show how under represented black & Hispanic people are in VC against total demographic (roughly 1% resp.).
