@AiG I can think of several biblical and scientific reasons to reject a recent, six-day creation. We're still brothers and sisters if we disagree on this. The only difference is one side of this argument unnecessarily pushes people away from Jesus.

@AiG The Bible does not claim that the earth is only 10,000 years old either. The Bible does claim, however, that we need to repent of our sins and put our faith in Jesus. We can agree on that.

@jonsteingard @Logos60666549 It's hard to see how these regularities and platonic entities can cause the existence of space/time; they seem powerless to do so. I think it's fair to argue that it is more likely that a rational mind willed it, as it better explains the existence of both matter and rationality.

@jonsteingard I believe WLC says God was timeless, but upon creating time, he entered into it, and so cannot be timeless at the same time.

@jonsteingard Unless suffering/discomfort is only helpful up until a certain point of maturity/perfection, after which other means are better suited at developing continued growth.

@PrestonSprinkle "Why should we be required to follow your religion's convictions?" This presents a difficulty for Christians who have their young children in public schools. I don't know how to answer their objection, but also feel it is unhealthy and confusing to children/society to affirm this

@PrestonSprinkle What is your view on whether the US should follow Christian teaching on same-sex marriage? The reason I ask is that while I respectfully dialogue with progressives on this issue, they insist that same-sex relationships should be affirmed and recognized in public schools.

@keener_craig @DavidReilly007 Christians would readily disassociate with ppl who claim to be Christians who live in unrepentant sexual sin. How spiteful/harmful to members of the body of Christ would someone have to be before we disassociate? Especially if they claim to be leaders in the church? Thanks again

@jonsteingard I don't think it undermines free will defense. God's 'dilemma' is bigger than the analogy. However, I am becoming less satisfied with these kinds of discussions over Twit, and long for more meaningful means of having these types of conversations. I wonder if others feel the same?

@jonsteingard Didn't he though? Most humans instinctively agree on most morals and mostly follow them. It makes sense to me that we would be designed so that our instincts would be even stronger for our children

@jonsteingard Hard to respond, cuz ppl will accuse of triteness. Will still share: He did enter said world & sacrifice his human life for it, & promises to redeem it all for anyone who forsakes evil & returns to him-& if anyone says, yeah but he didn't stay dead, that's what he promises us too
