@k0k1eth Nothing happens if it gets accepted anyway. We already voted in basically the same in 2014. Only thing that happens is that non eu immagration becomes even more impossible which is bad.
@CantelopePeel Proof of authority with a fixed validator payment in stables. Can be done with social consensus by hardcoding the validators into the binary. Over time new ones can get added or removed.
@0xcacti Not really. If your component is used for the duration of the program you can also Box::leak the object. This avoids the atomic reference increments/decrements on each clone.
@dankrad arenโt you already trusting them for liveness? They all could have kill switch installed that triggers 2026 if they detect that they run the ethereum protocol.
@toly@lastmjs ethereum will converge to this if more and more stake with lido. The validator set will be controlled by the majority of lido holders and chosen according to some metrics (geographical distribution, bare-metal/aws and client diversity).
If consensus can handle 1000 tx/s how does STL improve things? Isnโt the only improvement that the leader would have a C times more messages to chose from and therefore might be able to choose tx that are less likely to fail.
Block propagation from the leader would probably not significantly improve with STL since it is network bound and not server bound.
