@RachelMHerzog Asbury Park. Great restaurants and bars. Always something to do. Everyone is going to tell you to go to certain beach. It's better to do your research and then ask ppl if it's bad. There's more good than bad beaches. Seaside Heights for boardwalk fun.
@ChandranTheMan Thank you for this. Do I wish there were like 2 more matches? Yeah, but I still enjoyed the show. I have my opinions on the booking of things but I still had a good time. It’s hard sometimes to not pay attention to the haters.
@salingergregor I live in New Jersey and grew up 10 minutes from the stadium. That whole area is pretty much my life. The New Jersey governor is really taking a stand against FIFA and a lot of of us are happy. It isn’t about price gouging it’s about standing up to FIFA.
@salingergregor People have walked to American football games at MetLife for a while. It is only for the WC that the walking to the stadium has been banned. I can explain but it’s a long explanation but pretty much NY is getting all the tax benefit but NJ stuck with a security and transit bill
@kranman85 Will help subsidize the cost of the Transit. They mentioned in their latest statement that all of these other cities are not increasing cost. that works because everything is in that city the bars, the hotels, the events, everything. There is nothing in NJ other than the game.
Don’t flinch Mikey. Don’t. Ask anyone who went to the Super Bowl or Wrestlemania at MetLife and ask them how the train situation went. It’s gonna be a disaster no matter what. Guaranteed. FIFA not allowing tailgating ruined this. Just let ppl go and park. Don’t let FIFA win.
FIFA released a spicy statement from World Cup COO Heimo Schirgi responding to NJ Transit’s $150 roundtrip train announcement, and shouted out other cities who are keeping public transit cheap.
“The NJ Transit current pricing model will have a chilling effect,” Schirgi says.
@kranman85 You just said it yourself people are spending money and staying in New York City because FIFA makes it seem like the stadium is a New York stadium. But there are no other bars or hotels around that area that people can stay and easily get to the stadium where those taxes…
@kranman85 I’m not saying I don’t feel bad for those people that now have to shell at $150 to get to the game via train or $80 via bus. But the anger should not be at NJT. The anger needs to be at FIFA because people just honestly don’t understand how it works, and that is by design.
@kranman85 FIFA already said they’re not allowing ppl to walk. Honestly, and you know this being from here, ppl would die if they let them lol. They never should have not let people drive and park there. That was the catalyst to this whole thing.
@PupsAndPucks They aren’t. It’s FIFA. NJ Is doing the right thing. If you understand the history of FIFA and what they leave behind, you’d be on NJ’s side. I’m not saying that as mean btw, people honestly just don’t realize it.
