At 5, we slept in cow & sheep hides.
At 11, dad had a road accident & broke his skull.
Relied on scholarships to go to school.
In 2008, No work and expecting first born.
We lost money in our pig farm.
2012, Lost dad to multiple myeloma (cancer)
In 2016, unpaid bills pending bills nearly sunk our company.
And lost even more money during Covid.
2022, lost in UDA primaries
2023, public failure from senate generational election.
You’ll fail in your life sometimes.
You’ll loose some.
You’ll be anxious.
You’ll often have bad days.

We don’t give Moi his credit and dues on one thing!
EDUCATION!
You go around Africa and realize you can drive 100km with no sight of school.
Kibaki built on it. And now the we have those young people of Kibaki era being 25 year olds
They need jobs.
The leaders you will need in all 3 arms of government have to be able to enable enterprise. And industry. And commerce.
They need to interconnect rule of law, good governance, human rights and all else into one thing - a theory of change that creates local wealth and local jobs.
Most professional way to debate my brother @alexmwanzo is to articulate different point of view.
I have stated why.
And the way to check excesses.
Add some value!
Aristotle tutored exactly one student. His name was Alexander, and he went on to conquer the known world. For two thousand years a personal tutor was the rarest privilege on Earth. A kid with a cheap phone now has a better one that will only keep getting BETTER.
@TimKipchumba@ArapTilingi On this I agree but we can do a one term of 7 years for president and a non renewable 5 year term for mps, senator and Governor
@TimKipchumba If someone is to work Tim, the work will be seen, even if they will be done half way, we will see it.
A person can be given 20yrs and still do nothing
@NyabasaDanvas@TimKipchumba@RobertAlai This is the cattle rustling mentality. Taking without a care of how it is produced. Tax and tax more with a care of value to the taxpayer. That’s what cattle rustlers do. Steal a cow they didn’t care for or raise and use it to pay dowry for a woman they will claim to own.
@TimKipchumba This is lazy thinking. The development projects are funded by the Kenyan tax payers, not the president. He is a mere facilitator and not owner like the rogue president such as the one we have who will even frustrate any well meaning senate or parliament that wants to impeach him.
If 20 year Govt bonds is 13/14%, the private sector will need a risk premium over and above that rate.
Ultimately, the only way out is to have govt borrow less so that financing doesn't chase govt but chase builders.
We need to reduce country risk - rule of law, respect for contracts, payment of bills, courts working etc etc
@TimKipchumba We need to increase the value of the things we export -
We are doing well on the tourism front; more MICE, more conference facilities, stronger broadband
But industries are struggling - cost of power, taxes, levies, unpredictable taxman and parliament
Extractive elites
We need One single 10 year Presidency term for stability.
5 year term stronger parliament and senate - able to recall President.
An executive that has to keep returning to elections each 5 years - doesn’t execute much.
Almost anything that can get down, takes not less 5 years!
Even projects - JKIA, Expressway, SGR have been 10+ years in their planning cycles.
This project is very close to my heart. I intend to be on the first passenger train to Kisumu the day it’s launched. We have suffered on the road for far too long.
The explosion of coffee earnings and wealth in the next year or two will be phenomenal under @WilliamsRuto. Coffee demand around the world is skyrocketing.
Countries in Europe make as much as 5,000 Kes per kg.
Our farmers only make 120kes. You need to back and choose the right leaders in 2027!
You are right one one thing.
A good government - executed the things of the last 10-20 years and plans the next 20 years.
But you need to have chosen the right people to plan that last 20 years.
And then choose the right guy.
The most important thing is - planning cycle coupled with the reality of politics.
