I was on a southbound train, and while passing Hsinchu-Miaoli area, I caught a glimpse of an odd, abandoned Ancient Greek-styled, temple-like building. Bored as I was, I looked it right up on google map and went down the investigatory rabbit hole.
Here’s a thread🧵:
@jwc6952@AngelicaOung The world changes. What happened on the night of June 4th does not.
If you’re applauding the erasure of history, then you’re part of the problem too.
From calling for unfinished Civil War to be settled, to claiming there was no bloodshed in Tiananmen Square on 6/4 1989…
Genuinely excited to see what Angelica comes up with next. Moving to Beijing? Launching a China-maxxing business? Join CCP? The possibilities are endless.
@LamLaw1969@DreyerChina If you think an AI model that scrapes online sources with limited fact-checking mechanisms is a definitive authority on the subject, then I’m not sure this conversation should even be happening.
@Philip386287161@AngelicaOung But of course, because the number of likes equals factual accuracy now.
By that logic, celebrity gossip, conspiracy theories, and cat videos must be the highest forms of intellectual discourse ever produced.
@LamLaw1969@DreyerChina You know who kept the truth away from you? Do you really think a regime that censors even the mention of June 4 would welcome questions about who was killed, how many died, or what actually happened?
Now why don’t you telling people that thug story on the square.
On June 4 this year, as every year, I think back to that terrible night in 1989 when I watched China's army fire on the crowd that I was in and massacre unarmed protesters. I'll never forget the courage I saw that night, as well as the cruelty. #Tiananmen https://t.co/ySyNR1yjzM
This shows how the Chinese government has snuffed out not only Hong Kong's freedom but also the annual commemoration of the Tiananmen massacre. The photo from 2019 is the last time the people of Hong Kong could express their desire for democracy.
@christinelu It’s abhorrent, and a total insult to the memory of all those who lost their lives fighting for freedom that day, what these lies wumaos are painting today.
@StevenEKuhn@joerogan@patrickbetdavid@ShawnRyan762 Funny how you fail to mention even once about that regime that started this whole stupid war at the first place, and instead you blame the Ukrainians? Lol
