NO ONE SEEKS GOD?
Reconciling Romans 3:11 & Acts 17:26-28
These verses can seem to clash at first. Romans 3:11 says, “there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God.” But in Acts 17, Paul tells pagan Athenians that God ordered the world “so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.”
No contradiction when you read them in context.
In Romans 3, Paul shows that both Jews and Gentiles are under sin. No one can justify themselves by works or law-keeping. The Psalms quote describes our fallen condition: left to ourselves, we turn aside and don’t naturally seek the true God. But Paul immediately points to the solution—righteousness through faith in Christ for all who believe.
In Acts 17, Paul tells idolaters that God sovereignly arranged history and nations so people would have opportunity to seek Him. He’s not far from any of us. Then he commands all men everywhere to repent. The language is hopeful and invitational—“in the hope that they might” grope and find.
Here’s the harmony: Romans 3 highlights the problem sin created—apart from God’s grace, none of us seeks Him rightly. Acts 17 shows God’s gracious provision—through providence, creation, conscience, and the gospel, He draws near and makes seeking possible. God initiates. We get to respond.
This is why the Bible calls everyone to “seek the Lord while He may be found” and why we affirm that God gives sufficient light and grace for whoever will believe.
No need for total inability or secret regeneration first. The straightforward reading upholds both God’s initiative and real human responsibility.
That’s the hope we stand on: the God who knows how far we’ve fallen draws near in love so that anyone who will can seek Him—and find Him!

@AiG but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles. Yet to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God, 1 Corinthians 1:23–24 (CSB)
“I want to follow Jesus. But I don't get to do that because I'm transgender."
That's what Haley believed until a co-worker's Christ-like example challenged everything she thought she knew about Christianity.
After a simple prayer inviting Jesus into her life, she encountered the love of Christ for herself.
"Just a touch of His love made me mourn all the years I had spent apart from that. And I knew in that moment that I could never spend one day of my life apart from that ever again."
Jesus saved her, and she eventually realized she was the woman God had made her to be.

Pastor Jack Hibbs Breaks the Internet with Controversial Comments In His Latest Sermon 2026. Pastor Jack Hibbs from Calvary Chapel Chino Hills always does a great job in his sermons addressing the issues of the day from a biblical light. He is speaking about the situation in the middle east in light of the the death of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. Jack Hibbs often focuses on the end times and the things we need to know to navigate the time. Well these shocking comments went viral this week because he is addressing issues head on. Thank God that there are Pastors in America who are still bolding preaching the truth regardless of how it lands with the mob. For those who have spiritual eyes to see: The war has begun
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.” Jesus could have gone on—fires consume, floods destroy, inflation erodes, governments tax, enemies attack, investments go sour. No earthly treasure is safe. https://t.co/6f4VZaDwwS

We are sinners. Jesus died in our place. He rose bodily from the grave.
