Uganda seized Taiwanese passports at the airport. Demanded Chinese ones instead. Nobody fired a shot.
That happened this month at Entebbe International Airport. It's part of a pattern Beijing calls the "silkworm" strategy: nibble away at Taiwan's mobility before swallowing its recognition whole.
Seychelles, Mauritius, and Madagascar revoked overflight clearance for Taiwan's president in April, forcing his delegation onto a longer route through Eswatini's royal jet just to reach a state visit. Morocco stopped processing Taiwanese visas in July. South Africa is demanding Taiwan relocate its liaison office out of Pretoria entirely.
The mechanism is economic. In February, China offered zero-tariff access to 53 African nations. Every one accepted it except Eswatini, Taiwan's last remaining ally on the continent. The other 52 have been tightening the noose on Taiwanese travelers ever since.
This isn't Beijing invading Taiwan. It's Beijing making the rest of the world act like Taiwan already doesn't exist, one visa stamp at a time.

Listen to North Korean defector Yeonmi Park explain how her grandparents were promised much of what Mamdani and the Democratic Socialists of America are promising today:
- Free healthcare
- Free housing
- Free education
- A government that will take care of everyone
In return, they surrendered their freedom.
Tyranny rarely arrives looking cruel. It arrives smiling, speaking softly and promising compassion.
Liberals, I beg of you, don’t listen to conservatives if you don’t want to.
Listen to the North Korean defector.
It will not be different this time.
This is how it begins.
Bill Maher asks how Mississippi is kicking California’s ass in education, and Texas is “blowing them away” in green energy for “way less money.”
“Did you know that a black fourth grader in Mississippi is two and a half times as likely to be proficient in math and reading as one in California? Mississippi is kicking our ass in education and for way less money. We’re 37th in fourth-grade reading, they’re ninth.”
“Texas is kicking our ass in green energy. The average time to get solar panels connected there is three to four months. About 1,000 days faster than it took me. Remember when I was trying to get my solar hooked up? It would have been quicker to build a windmill.”
“Texas has passed California in solar and blows away California when it comes to wind and energy storage. How does a state with no pro-climate policies produce better climate results than a state where here, even though we have so much better bumper stickers on our Priuses?”
“I’ll tell you why. Because you’re allowed to build there because every third person in Texas isn’t someone whose job it is to make sure nothing gets done.”
“Democrats, these are your issues: education, race, the environment.”
“And I say this with love: you’re losing to the Waffle House, car-on-the-lawn states.”
"I feel like I'm in a Twilight Zone" said Sheriff @ChadBianco at tonight's debate. It did feel like that as a viewer. Moderators asking 6 Democrats whose fingerprints are all over California's rapid decline...how they would fix California. Really?
Forgive me if I don't ask the arsonist to protect my home against fire or the gambling addict to balance my budget.
Gas prices, home prices, home insurance coverage, wildfire risk, healthcare fraud. None of these are caused by Trump or climate change. It's Democrat policies in Sacramento that every Democrat candidate supports (or is too afraid to oppose.)
They all give Newsom high grades. They would do nothing meaningfully different. Most would go further.
If we're going to listen to anything they say, it should be to do the opposite of what they prescribe.
Every single Democrat would be more of the same or worse.
No thanks.

USA - ZERO
But sure, let’s promote ourselves as a family friendly country of opportunity.
Do better…
If you’re experiencing any sort of harassment by the CCP and you’re based in the USA don’t simply accept it, reach out to the FBI and report it, it’s time to fight back against the dirty tactics of the CCP
I’ve never told this story before publicly but, I used to be a journalist covering human trafficking on the US Mexico border.
I’ve crossed the border illegally covering migrants and cartels countless times. I saw young women in the morgue after they were raped and brutalized in Juarez.
I saw a man get stabbed by a coyote in the gut, a terrible way to die. I know the sound a human makes when it happens. I knew a kid Neftali Fuentes who crossed 100+ times helping others not die in the desert across Arizona.
I’ve seen cartel wars play out on the streets of Juarez, bodies dangling from over passes. I’ve been held at gun and knife point before. Those who say open borders are humane have no idea what they’re talking about. You live in an air conditioned suburb that might as well be an ivory tower. Do not tell me what we do now is virtuous, it is cowardice.
I hope we do what is right which is secure the border, stop criminals from profiting off of misery and help support local governments to be better like El Salvador. If you don’t understand this, yet you’ve never been to the border, never spoken to border patrol, never seen the many crosses in the dessert maybe get down off your high horse and try to understand… or sit this one out.
This is where a ton of well-off leftist intellectuals are stuck. Insulated from and often ignorant of the real world consequences of the position they've taken, they conclude the masses have been manipulated by influences to which they are too clever and righteous to fall prey.
