(๐ฃ) The President of Brazil has issued a statement about Twitter:
โThe world isnโt obliged to put up with Elon Muskโs far-right free-for-all just because he is rich.โ
RETWEET if you agree. https://t.co/0LjrIoTBvi
Pure gaslighting from @Fordnation as they try to bury their own study that shows the 413 will do nothing for traffic. Put the trucks from the 401 on the 407 now, reduce gridlock and save us $billions. https://t.co/hrZ7s2Zv1w #stopthe413#onpoli
@breakfasttv No. It is an architecturally significant building and is in a neighborhood that needs the influx of visitors, and the reasons for moving it are purely corrupt.
@AlexDRMather As a homeowner, who stands to pay more money, I support Mayor Chow. She is right. The magical conservative thinking of Tory and Rob Ford has led us into potential disaster.
@davidfrum The only ones who take his words as permission to be antisemitic were antisemitic from the get go. And those people couldn't give a shit what Trudeau says anyway. Jewish safety is important but what about the safety of Palestinian civilians?
@nestruck @ShopprsDrugMart These charities are a way for corporations to lower their tax burden, at OUR expense. So, they put less money back into the public coffers, and we pay to support charities that may or may not be valid. A double loss in my mind.
@jen_keesmaat On a side note, why is it that I keep reading about important local developments like this in The Guardian and not on any Canadian site? What does that say about our media system?
@KingaSurmaMPP@am640 This is a ridiculous plan that smells of corruption. Ontario Place is public land, not a playground for the rich, to be paid for by the average person. The Science Center is an important part of the community it exists in already. This is about appeasing developers. Period.
@NKossovan Well, people I speak to are looking forward to it. But, I get that I'm a minority. I'm not just concerned with the mayoral powers but the Eglinton / Yonge LRT fiasco, a lack of city maintenance, harassment of the homeless, being in Ford's pocket etc.
@NKossovan Who says we don't want another election? Tory's egregious anti-democratic move of taking on more mayoral powers happened after the election to the surprise of all. This is a useful opportunity in my books.
@BobRae48 Agreed that Twitter is a steward of the public good. But frankly we shouldn't have to rely on the possibility of decent billionaires to do us the favour of protecting the public good. And, frankly, it's a possibility that seems slim.
