We're hiring! Tenure-track position in Human Evolutionary Biology in the Dept. of Anthropology at the University of Utah. Note that this also includes nonhuman primate biology! Application screening will begin on Nov. 30. For more information, see https://t.co/RT95t94XpG
I am looking for a graduate student to join my lab at the U. of Utah starting 2023! Candidates interested in ethnographic and biocultural research on human behavior, health and energetics especially encouraged to apply. More details: https://t.co/2R8YWuXqYo
Our new genomics paper on the adaptive evolution of cebids (capuchin and squirrel monkeys) was published in PNAS today

@PaigeEHaffener@aaronquinlan The layout we've been using is pretty basic. I have databases of people, projects, grants, and tasks. Each project page has the following sections: questions for me (active and archived), table of contents, description, tasks, weekly goals, lit review (optional), and notes
@PaigeEHaffener@aaronquinlan Yep, we have been using Notion for computational lab notebooks and project management. The combination of price (free for students and educators) and flexibility were a big selling point for us.
Spots are filling up quickly!! Be sure to apply as soon as possible. *Free* virtual workshop (3 days) in anthropological genomics co-sponsored by @aaagenetics. Speakers include @AinashC, me, @colinmbrand, @shyamsgo, Robert Maier, and @alanrrogers.
*Free* virtual training workshop in anthropological genomics from July 27-29, with an emphasis on detecting admixture! Very excited to be co-hosting this with @alanrrogers and @AAAGenetics.

I’ve been feeling pretty nervous about this blog post coming out
It took me months to put words to what I had to go through in grad school and this final draft still only represents a fraction of it
But I hope it's useful to anyone who’s going through something similar
New preprint up, led by @hazel_byrne_: "Signatures of adaptive evolution in platyrrhine primate genomes"!! In addition to the selection analyses, this paper also presents a de novo genome for Sapajus apella. https://t.co/b4V0Vt7sF0
If you haven’t already checked out @TinaLasisi and colleagues brilliant new paper on hair phenotyping, I strongly suggest you do so! https://t.co/l0QeugW3Tx
New paper alert! Sifakas' leaf-eating habits run all the way to their genes, but a flexible diet may give them unforeseen advantages. Today in @ScienceAdvances. By @goguevara, with Lydia Greene and @theyoderlab @DukeBiology.
