@matthew_sigel (Head of digital assets research @VanEck_us) just follow @downto_finance . Something big will happen soon. The tech is unique. DTF will be infra for Defi on Robinhood chain
Rumor mill saying the SEC is getting ready to make its biggest ruling on tokenization yet with an innovation exemption relief allowing tokenized securities to trade solely with a transfer agent.
No broker dealer license and no exchange rules for US retail and foreign investors is what we’ve heard.
Would be massive for onchain finance.
@downto_finance thesis
This is probably one of the most ambitious projects on Robinhood Chain, and it seems most people do not understand how $DTF works or how big it might become. Will try to explain it how I understand it.
Down To Finance is a factory for launching funds as tokens. Anyone can package a whole DeFi strategy into one coin, called a DETF, and anyone else can hold that coin instead of running the strategy themselves.
Imagne the ETF rebuilt as an app store.
In tradfi only the big boys on Wall Street like BlackRock and Vanguard, can issue an ETF and it takes a year. Here a good analyst with a laptop issues one on a Tuesday, and the fund actually works: the assets inside sit in lending markets and vaults earning, not idle in a wrapper.
Every fund on the platform pays into the same place. Vault usage fees, swap fees on the Uniswap pools, and the protocol's cut of every mint across every DETF all route to the Protocol DETF, which is the fee path for DTF holders, alongside buyback and burn of the token.
If it goes right then we might see DTF becomes the issuance layer for onchain funds the way Uniswap became the issuance layer for tokens.
Thousands of strategies launched by analysts, quant hobbyists and DAOs, each one a token anyone can hold or trade, with the creator collecting a cut of every mint into their fund for as long as it lives, which is what pulls in real talent.
Retail stops picking protocols and picks managers instead, exactly what happened in tradfi, where passive funds now hold about half of all US equity fund assets. Robinhood Chain gets its native asset management layer, and every tokenised stock, stablecoin or pool the protocol wraps in a vault becomes something a DETF can put to work.
if the @cyotee manages to make this work right and adoption hits, we are talking about billions, guys. Asset management is a hundred trillion dollar industry that has never been permissionless.
