Today is the International Day of Women & Girls in Science AND #FruityFriday - so I’m in my best rainbow fruit salad to remind you there is no right or wrong way to be a woman/girl in science. Women are diverse, and that’s not just OK, it’s great - be the rainbow!
I must admit that this annotated Nature abstract remains a useful recipe for constructing a summary paragraph. I show it to my students every time we get started.
@RitaYohanne @PhDVoice@AcademicChatter My “writing buddy” Cognac is always sleeping on the job- he decides when the day is done because I can never quite bring myself to move him!

There was an honours project available in this amazing group in computer science AND microbiology! And I’ve been working in this group ever since 😊 Just goes to show you can always combine your passions, no matter how obscure people tell you they are!
I’m a little behind but still on the #SciCommSeptember train! 11: my story!
In high school, I decided I wanted to be a microbiologist, but starting uni I kept a few computing subjects going as electives. I owe these choices to two amazing teachers!
