I love how basically every study shows that students do better with less homework and workers perform better with more vacation days and shorter shifts, yet we do the exact opposite because of outdated, guilt-driven “work is suffering” values and toxic hustle culture.
Billionaires don’t wake up at 5am. Teachers, nurses, bus drivers, service workers, etc., wake up at 5am. Billionaires wake up whenever they want because their wealth doesn’t come from their own labor. It comes from the labor of people who will never be billionaires.
I think we’re entering an era where poverty doesn’t always look like unemployment.
You can have a job.A university degree.A smartphone.Internet access.A respectable salary. And still be one unexpected expense away from financial trouble. You work, but can’t afford a home. You earn, but struggle to save. You have qualifications, but no financial security. At what point do we acknowledge that having employment and escaping poverty are no longer necessarily the same thing?
The real tragedy of living in a third-world country is that you can do everything right and still struggle because the environment is designed to make ordinary things unnecessarily difficult.
There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from living in a country where you cannot confidently plan your future because the economy, currency, electricity and cost of living can ruin your plans overnight.

Hey so like what’s up with everyone’s situational awareness. It has gotten really bad. No one seems to understand anymore that there’s other people on the earth with them. Look up from your phone! People are in front or behind you.
The urge to quit your job on the spot after being disrespected is so strong because why am i even sacrificing my peace for a paycheck that can barely compensate me
even if bjp loses power tomorrow, we need to understand that defeating a political party and dismantling the ideology it has normalised are two completely different battles and the second one is going to be much harder
i also think that being a corporate slave has made me so much more subservient and complacent, a big MNC job kills your ability to talk back and stand for what you think is right and question authority. so many people are scared of attending protests because we fear being tracked
To think of the repercussions one meticulously reported piece by the Indian Express has caused, just imagine if the Indian press had done this across the last 12 years where we would be.
