some nonfiction that I’d have to check again
@EmmaRSotomayor Good to know. I've always thought of it as an autumn book, based solely on having watched the old TV series and then reading a couple chapter excerpts.
Perhaps I'll borrow it this month.
@NorCalSportsNW IMO, it’s possible they do this.
BUT, they would have to get a HAUL, including GREAT young pitching.
Logan Webb is under contract for 2.5 years more. And he’s still super valuable. And it’s hard to find a better dude, especially one who’s local.
Better to keep the leader.
@PhillipLytle It’s possible. And you speak from the experience of your own offspring.
Personally, I see the Skywalker saga as 6 films + some (wrongly) discredited books/comics/extrapolations.
I haven’t shown my son anything beyond those 6. He’d probably enjoy TFA/TLJ/Rise because he’s young
Even more amusing to me is how short Luke’s training in Dagobah is. The entire plot of Empire takes, what, a couple weeks at the longest? And Luke is traveling for a fair bit of that time. It’s implied that he lands, gets stuck in the swamp, and Yoda trains him for a couple days.
I love Empire Strikes Back but it also has a plot hole large enough to drive a truck through.
A driving point of the story is the Falcon's malfunctioning hyperdrive, you know, rhat piece of sci-fi tech that let's them travel from one star system to another.
So in order to get it fixed, they fly from the Hoth System to the Bespin System without a hyper drive. 🙄
(Your hand waving explanation also sucks and I will deal with all challengers swiftly and brutally in the replies)
@OliverJia1014 For me, I’m more concerned about my half-Japanese son who has lived here his whole life. Fine, so far, but it might be weird for him in the future. I’m fine always being a 外人. Just want to improve my language skills because that’s the biggest barrier at this point.
@LindaMeadWrites might as well try a draft or two that way. you may go back and realize that it was okay, or you may figure out how to fix it in the process of retooling it.
@BenKaspick I don’t think Farhan was *bad* at the draft. (& btw *some* of the scout guys from before are still there.)
What Farhan lacked was an overall vision of the way a successful baseball organization should run, from top to bottom, inside & out. This team is only 1.5 years from him.
