A Tale of Two Cities 1958 is actually so good. It's obviously shorter than the book, so a few things are cut, but they got the characters down.
(They also understood Carton needed to be attractive, just saying)
Anyone have tips on how to deal with summer brain fog? I feel like when I'm working I want to come home and write, but have not time.
But now that I'm off, my brain is just fog.

The bird babies on my porch have been had! Repeat, the bird babies have been had!
I was worried bc I hadn't seen the mom in a while...welp. Gurl was out getting food. I saw a parental unit hovering over these gaping little triangles today.
This woman set up her bathroom with systems that actually work with her ADHD brain โ and honestly, a lot of these ideas are just smart, period.
She keeps a phone mount in the shower so she can watch a show while sheโs in there (because she hates showering otherwise). She also keeps her water flosser, face wash, and even cleaning supplies in the shower so she can knock out a few tasks while sheโs already in there.
She also uses a 3-section laundry hamper (dirty colors, dirty whites, and clean clothes she doesnโt feel like putting away yet) so nothing ends up on the floor.
ADHD or not, these are some really practical ideas.
Have you ever set up a system in your home specifically because it works better for how your brain works?
Hey Frens,
I need help with this sentence. I really like it, the two different states of mind it reads (hers and his), the implications....but it's clunky to read.
I'm tempted to leave it, but I know every single reader is going to get tripped up over it.
I have wildly different denominations show up on my feed with similar takes and multiple times have had to back up commenting like "oh wait wrong church for that"
@AbigailFalanga I love when I see it bc it's the embodiment of Romanticism, which so few people appreciate it. So I get excited like, "Ah! Romanticism! Being appreciated!" every time I see it
@once_darkness Most my "loves" are mainstream, but I have a niche one! I don't like reading it exactly, but I love writing Selfish Sacrifice--Person A's sacrifice is about themself + toxic attachment more than person B. It's wildly dramatic to get lost in writing especially in B's perspective๐
I know the proper answer is no, but I would have to give it to someone to toss into the ocean for me bc I have the kind of curiosity that gets people into horror story situations in cautionary tales
There's really nothing in The Vesdat, other than a very vague eastern European vibe, to indicate that The Brothers Karamazov was a major inspiration for it
...Except maybe the chaotic structure. ๐
He can literally have that life today! Go live in a one room, 300sqft shack(with nicely lime washed walls) and work either on your own fields or for the local land owner in his fields from dawn to dusk, and honor him as your liege lord.
Eat whatever youโre alloted at the generosity of your liege or from trading the fruits of your fields.
