Further to my previous tweet, MOC is glad to inform that for the first time a direct full shipment of 18 tons of Pakistan’s Sindhri mangoes reached Lanzhou in China via a chartered plane yesterday. This is a great event marking the 70 years of relations between China & Pakistan.

Alhamdulillah, I am glad to inform that in meeting of ECC held today, it has been approved that the erstwhile 5 zero-rated industries will be given a rate of 7.5¢/kWh for July & August 2020 & 9¢/kWh till 30 June 2021, while for gas rate will be $6.5/MMBtu till 30 June 2021. 1/2

I have been informed that we have exported 125,000 tons of mangoes so far this year, against an annual target of 80,000 tons. Export of $72 Million has been achieved and it is expected that we will accomplish export of $150 Million. 1/2

The Chargé d'Affaires of Uzbekistan visited MOC to discuss deepening of economic relationship between the two countries. We discussed the visit of Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, which hopefully will take place in September 2020. 1/3

Had a constructive meeting with All Pakistan Shipping Association (APSA) & they felt that after a very long time due attention is being given to shipping industry. It is an industry of strategic importance for the country. 1/2

I want to apologize to the exporters of PPE items that I have not been able to submit the summary for export of N95 and Surgical masks due to procedural reasons. It is now ready and Insha'Allah will be taken up at the next Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

Exporters have always been wanting that their refunds go directly into their accounts from the SBP. I am pleased to announce that effective from 1st of September 2020, the SBP will be crediting the Duty Drawbacks directly into the bank accounts of the exporters. 1/2 @ImranKhanPTI

I am pleased to see that trade with China through Khunjerab Pass has resumed temporarily. The opening of border was a longstanding demand of the businessmen, particularly from Gilgit Baltistan region, which remained closed due to Covid-19. 1/2

Export results for month of July 2020 have come in & there has been a growth of 5.8%, in dollar value terms, as compared to the same month last year. This is a great achievement considering that for the last four months, since March 2020, we witnessed a decline in exports. 1/2

MoC releases Rs 9.373b to Textile exporters u/ various schemes: DDT 2018-21 Rs 3.9b, DDT 2017-18 Rs. 3.8b, DLTL 2009-11 Rs 1.5b, DDT 2016-17 Rs.20m & DLTL 2016-17 Rs 4m. This is in addition to Rs 17.7b released by MoC in Dec 2019. Total of Rs 27b paid to Textile sector in 3 mths.
