Yes...Gandalf when Frodo wishes he didnt have to carry the ring: *"So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."*
At its core, The Lord of the Rings is a story about holding on to hope when everything is utterly despairing. This is ultimately why it resonates with us, and generation after generation fall in love with it, I believe. It speaks to us now in these times deeply.
@KBanny83 😄 it *should* be a great game. Instead my kids just bicker and torture each other and my husband gets mad at them. Fun times all around!!! I imagine that this is a common experience when people play it. 🤔
I bought Risk a few years ago thinking "this will be fun and teach critical thinking!" 🤭
Idealistic nonsense.
😆
I was very wrong.
It is not fun.
And everyone just fights.
Fun fact....my dog and I are on Google Maps 😆
I was walking her when the car went through our neighborhood a few years ago. Now I need to go see if they blurred her face too.
@DavidDack The one (and only!) HM I ever ran was a disorganized mess and the course ended up being short. My Garmin forever reminds me of that as my longest run being 20.93km 🫤
My youngest is extremely bright. He is held back because of the behavior of his classmates and it's frustrating for us 😑. I really don't like the "inclusion is good for everyone" trope for this reason.
Activists call “ gifted" classes unfair. They want all kids taught together.
“It doesn’t help any of us if kids are … sitting bored in class because we’re not teaching them anything new,” says @MichaelPetrilli.
Why not let smart kids excel?
