We call on our young people to shun drug abuse and alcoholism, a vice that continues to destroy the potential of far too many youth across the country.

This challenge demands a whole-of-society response, bringing together parents, religious organisations, communities and Government.

As Government, we are implementing robust measures to confront this destructive vice decisively and conclusively. A joint team, comprising the National Campaign Against Drug Abuse (NACADA) and the Anti-Narcotics Police Unit, is actively pursuing those smuggling drugs into the country, as well as those involved in the production and distribution of illicit alcohol.

We will be working and collaborating closely with the Church and other religious groups, among others, in the fight against this scourge.

Attended the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA) Mahiga, Othaya, Nyeri, during the Holy Oil Consecration.

The KSh80 billion cooperation agreement between the National Government and the Nairobi City County Government is a bold step to fix the city’s most urgent challenges, ranging from piling garbage and solid waste and inadequate water supply to power connectivity and poor roads.

This partnership will restore order, improve living standards and position Nairobi as a clean, functional and investment-ready capital city that reflects the ambition of our nation.

Handed over new classrooms at Kihumbuini Primary School and addressed residents at the newly built Kangemi Overpass, Westlands Constituency, Nairobi County.

At Kangemi Primary and Junior School in Westlands Constituency, Nairobi, handed over 16 new classrooms that have provided more opportunities for the 4,200 learners at the institution.

Nationally, we have built 23,000 classrooms in schools to address the learning challenges facing many of our learning institutions.

In addition to hiring over 100,000 teachers, increasing funding for education from KSh500 billion to over KSh700 billion, and streamlining the transition from the Curriculum Based Curriculum to Curriculum Based Education and Training, we are making learning more seamless and ensuring equal access to learning opportunities for all.

In Nairobi, our plan is to build 5,000 classrooms in partnership with Members of Parliament. Already, 500 classrooms have been completed. This programme is well on course.
