@Titantravis08 I thought we were talking about accuracy? What does that have to do with playcalling? He’s throwing passes in the scheme Daboll runs.
Cam had to go out of him way to throw a deep shot to Carnell.
The Tennessee titans receivers are dropping 9.2% of their passes. The highest in the league.
NFL Teams Drop % leaders (% of passes dropped)
1. Tennessee Titans - 9.2% (13 drops)
2. Green Bay Packers - 7.1% (13 drops)
3. Miami Dolphins - 6.3% (8 drops)
4. Washington Commanders - 5.8%( 9 drops)
5. Atlanta Falcons - 5.4% (7 drops)
6. Minnesota Vikings - 5.4% (7 drops)
If you remove cams 13 throwaways this season, he’s completing 70% of his passes that he throws at receivers. That would put him at the top percentile of the league. No QB in the league completes 100% of their passes, the defenses are far too good for that to happen.
Has Cam had a few bad throws and a few bad clips that have gone viral? Sure. Every QB has bad throws, it’s a part of the game. I mean, look at what I just sent you from Matt Stafford. He’s known for throwing one of the fastest balls in the NFL. This whole cam not being accurate thing is completely blown out of proportion cause of a few bad clips.
He’s a young QB who’s still getting better. Mahomes had horrendous footwork coming out of college and he tools years to clean it up.
@Titantravis08 The difference between good teams and bad teams is that good teams make plays regardless of circumstance. Bad teams wait for things to be perfect. https://t.co/WAN0FrbRMz
@Titan_Holaday@pfref Every source tracks them differently. Drops are very subjective. All I know is Titans are either top four or top three in all of them. Trying to diminish the lack of support for your own. QB is just pathetic stuff from this fan base.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: @Cameron7Ward IS NOT the problem. Tennessee’s offense is failing around him.
And one stat should completely change the conversation:
Cam Ward ranks 5th in the entire NFL in adjusted completion percentage at 80.2%.
Not fifth among young QBs.
Not fifth in the AFC.
FIFTH IN THE NFL.
Adjusted completion percentage removes drops, throwaways, spikes, batted passes and throws where the QB is hit while releasing the football.
In simple terms:
When Cam actually gets a fair chance to complete the pass, he’s been one of the most accurate quarterbacks in football. Yet no one even mention it.
Now look at what Tennessee has put around him through five games:
• 11 dropped passes
• 4 lost fumbles by teammates. Cam has lost ZERO.
• 30 penalties for 248 yards
• 67 yards of Cam completions erased by holding against Houston alone
• 10 sacks allowed
• Titans special teams rank 31st in the NFL at -22.2 EPA
• 68% of his targets are behind the LOS or within 9 yards
• Only 9% of his targets are 20+ yards downfield
• Of his 3 interceptions, one came after Tony Pollard bobbled the ball against Baltimore, and another came while Cam was hit as he threw against Houston
And those drops are absolutely crushing his box-score numbers.
Cam’s official completion percentage:
63.2%
If those 11 dropped passes are caught:
70.3%
Read that again.
63.2% becomes 70.3%.
Yet every Monday the conversation gets reduced to:
“Cam Ward has to play better.”
Meanwhile...
Drops kill drives.
Fumbles kill momentum.
Penalties erase explosive plays.
Bad special teams create longer fields.
Protection breakdowns force rushed decisions.
A conservative passing attack limits explosive opportunities.
And somehow the quarterback gets blamed for all of it.
Has Cam made mistakes? Absolutely.
He’s a second-year quarterback. He’s going to make mistakes.
But Tennessee is asking him to overcome mistakes from virtually every other part of the offense and special teams while giving him almost no margin for error.
And despite all of that:
80.2% adjusted completion percentage.
5th-best in the NFL.
When Cam Ward gets a fair opportunity to make the throw, the numbers say he delivers.
That should be the story.
Cam Ward isn’t holding this offense back.
The offense is holding Cam Ward back.

@visual_people Yea I kinda agree, I think maybe the last quarter of the season he can take over. The offense is in a good spot. Jeanty needs to get it going tho, he can be a star
Cam Ward nice patience in pocket to find open receiver. Makes a nice 20 yard throw, but ball is dropped by the TE. Need to help the young QB...

@can1p3tyourd0g@jmorrisMCM Why was Tom Brady almost not drafted? Didn’t they know that he was gonna be the goat? Why was Brock Purdy the last pick in the draft? I didn’t even know he would be an MVP talks? Seems like people are kind of stupid now?
Like Sam darnold? Like baker? Like Mac jones? Like Daniel jones? The only difference is Bryce was given more time and these guys were just waiting to be let go.
Look at what happened to Malik Willis in Green Bay on a good system.
Yall have no idea how WB play actually works. Just complain with little twitter fingers all day
@gte_stacca And then you have functional franchisees like the Cowboys and the Packers, who always have a good quarterback. Even if they don’t win, they’re still not dysfunctional as the Titans lol
Yeah, all fair points. Having watched film on cam, I think he’s a far better quarterback than people give him credit for. He’s creative, can throw with anticipation, is willing to fit it into tight pockets and can create out of structure.
He’s five games into this new system and it doesn’t quite seem like he’s comfortable in it, which is understandable. For me at this point how he looks at the end of this season will be the best till we have on cam. His clothes out to last season was pretty good. He had four straight games of two touchdowns and zero interceptions, that’s why we were all excited about the second season.
@gte_stacca I have watched the Tennessee Titans draft and ruin young QBs for the past 20 years.
Vince Young, Jake locker, Marcus Marietta, will Levis, and now Cam Ward.
This fan base and organization has no idea how to develop young QBs. They’re just gonna keep doing it forever and ever
