@meaning_enjoyer I’ve noticed a big change in computer usage skill in younger children pre / post covid. I’ve only got anecdotal observations but I think it’s a bit chunk of kids being taught on tablets, I notice they struggle to type / use a mouse. (I teach after school coding classes).
@BigJuffer@mrseleanorohara@VictoriaCoren@BBCTwo Sabrina on Netflix did this to an extreme. Can also be caused by anamorphic lenses that are very wide, but then the odd aberations in the bokeh made me think of the funky lenses.
@BigJuffer@mrseleanorohara@VictoriaCoren@BBCTwo My thought is they use really wide lenses that are just on the edge of causing curvature (not full on fisheye ala Poor things). I also think that they are purposely using cheaper lenses (often Russian soviet era) that causes aberations on the edges of focus like a Helios 44-2
Right, I've asked this a million times, but please hit me up with any PACES revision resources. Looking for things I can do at home before returning to work after mat leave in the new year e.g. podcasts, videos. Already on @prepacespodcast.
Playing Thank Goodness You’re Here on PS4 and absolutely creased up laughing with @mrseleanorohara - if @coalsupper didn’t watch Monkey Dust when they grew up I’ll eat my hat, this game feels like interactive BBC3 comedy from mid 2000s.
Think if this does get carried out it’s a big mistake- libraries are akin to community hubs these days, offering a wide breadth of essential services. With a highly only government offering, libraries offer free access and help to those needing it.
I am really pleased to be part of @uochester and their Festival of Ideas giving a workshop / talk on the 7th of July. The topic is "Preparation Meets Play – Developing Student Skills through Game Based Learning and Gamification" and you can sign up here! https://t.co/dVuNuzXMcG
@BobBilsland@CodeClub@malvern_wells@microbit_edu oh its also given me an idea! Do you think you could do morse code battleships with the children? Teach them to send coordinates and play against each other?
