Stay away from the people who trusted your abuser’s narrative about you without even bothering to ask you directly. They weren’t looking for the truth.
I finally understand what Machiavelli meant when he said, “Never play fair in a game where others cheat.” It doesn’t mean become evil. It means stop being naive. Stop bringing honesty to people who study manipulation, stop giving access to people who weaponize closeness, and stop expecting clean hands from people who already showed you they’ll throw dirt. Sometimes wisdom is not revenge. Sometimes wisdom is learning the rules of the room before the room uses your goodness against you.
Hating you would be easy. But honestly? I just pity you. Because your biggest punishment isn't me, It's you. It's having to carry the same unresolved patterns into every relationship you touch. The constant controlling. The manipulation. The shifting stories depending on who's listening. The inability to be honest when honesty would cost you something. You call it love whenever someone gives you attention. You call it connection whenever someone validates your ego.
But love without integrity is just attachment dressed up in prettier clothes. You expect loyalty while moving disloyally. You expect trust while being untrustworthy. You expect respect while giving very little of it and somehow, when things fall apart, there's always someone else to blame. Never the choices. Never the patterns. Never the person staring back at you in the mirror. That's the part that fascinates me the most. How every relationship has a different cast of characters.
Yet the same problems somehow keep appearing. The same conflicts. The same chaos. The same disappointments. The same broken trust. At some point, maturity requires asking a difficult question: "What if the problem isn't everyone else?" Because growth begins where blame ends and accountability begins when excuses run out. The truth is, karma isn't always some dramatic event waiting around the corner.
Sometimes karma is living the same painful cycle over and over because you're unwilling to confront the part you play in creating it. Sometimes karma is never finding peace because you keep bringing the same unresolved version of yourself everywhere you go and that sounds far more exhausting than anything I could ever wish on you.
once you cut people out of your life, you need to become very comfortable with them talking bad and making things up about you. bc they will fill your silence and your absence with stories that make them feel better about losing access to you. people rarely take accountability when it’s easier to paint you as the villain.
HAVE YOU EVER MET SOMEONE and just paused like… so nobody ever sat you down and told you about yourself??
Nobody ADDRESSED this behavior?
Because you’re standing there wondering how someone this difficult still has friends and family, and nobody’s ever called it out.
Neil deGrasse Tyson: “Whatever [the next outbreak] is, we ain’t ready for it. We still have anti-vaxxers running around.”
“I don’t trust scientists. I saw a YouTube video, so I’m not going to take it.” (mocking)
“I don’t want you to ever forget this story.”
“20,000 years ago, we’re in the cave. Do you know what the life expectancy was?”
Shannon Sharpe: “10 years? 15 years?”
Neil deGrasse Tyson: “30. Half of everyone born was dead before they were 30.”
Shannon Sharpe: “Wow!!!”
Neil deGrasse Tyson: “Fast forward to 1840… everyone born in the world was dead by the age of 35. We gained five years of life expectancy. And every one of them ate organic, breathed clean air… Science matters here.”
“We’ve doubled the life expectancy with antibiotics, vaccines, and sanitation. The three biggest forces operating on our longevity. So to come around and say I don’t need vaccines because I’m not getting sick, that’s like saying, why are you using dandruff shampoo? You don’t have dandruff.”
Shannon Sharpe: “Well, I don’t want to get it.”
Neil deGrasse Tyson: “That’s my point. If you’re successful, people think you don’t need it when that’s what’s creating the ongoing success in the first place.”
Good people have high levels of empathy, but once that empathy is exhausted, they switch to a state of objective observation. They see you for exactly who you are, without the filter of their love. This is why their anger feels so cold, it is the absence of the warmth you took for granted
My therapist said being a ‘loner’ can be a trauma response…
and honestly it makes sense.
When you grow up around people who disappear, bring chaos, or don’t show up…
you learn real quick that your safe place is YOU. So being alone becomes peace, not punishment. And I finally understand why I am the way I am.
Highly recommend letting people know you're capable of madness from time to time. Especially if you're a quiet, soft spoken person. Disrespect sometimes needs to be met with disrespect.. let mfers know you can go from 0-100 real quick.
Naomi Osaka on why she chose to host a party for the black tennis players:
“You know I'm seeing a little bit of-
‘Why can't you love everyone for all skin tones?’ and ‘what if someone had an all white party?! First of all I do love everyone for who they are no matter their race + ethnicity, (I'm literally half Japanese lol). I can only speak from my experiences in my own life though, growing up as a tennis player I didn't see many people that looked like ME and I feel like it's important to celebrate them.
Secondly I feel like it's important to note that there have been all white dinners/parties. I don't know how else to tell you this, I literally seen them all the time and never had an issue with it at all. To the people who ask this question I want to ask you this question too, ‘What is it about POC getting together that unsettles you so much?’
I want to end this by saying I grew up watching my dad get discriminated against, having the cops called on him multiple times at the tennis court. There are multiple things I will apologize for in my life but celebrating being black and appreciating who we are will never be something I would consider saying sorry for. Thanks.
Actually I lied, I am sorry. I'm sorry for the people who cannot comprehend in their brains that this is not about exclusion, this is a celebration about how far we have come 🖤”

The sexiest revenge is neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrr letting them have access to you again. Not out of bitterness, not to prove a point, but because some people only understand your value after they lose the privilege of reaching you. Let them remember the version of you they mishandled while you become someone they no longer qualify to touch.
Sometimes the hardest goodbye is the one you make while you’re still in love.
There comes a moment when you have to say, “I love you, and I probably always will… but I’m no longer interested in the level of life you’re offering me.” And that truth hurts in a way few things do. Because love doesn’t just vanish. But it can get overshadowed by the reality that your values, your growth, your needs, and your future no longer align with theirs.
You’re not asking them to change. You’re not trying to mold them into someone else. You’re simply acknowledging that who they are...and how they choose to live...no longer fits the life you’re building. And for your own peace, your own evolution, and your own sanity, you have to step back.
“You can live how you want… but you can’t do it with me anymore.”
Loving someone from a distance is still love. It just means you’re choosing yourself too. The love in your heart may remain, but you know you deserve more than inconsistency, stagnation, or emotional chaos. You deserve a love that grows with you, not one that holds you back or keeps you small. You deserve environments where your peace is protected, where your soul feels safe, and where your growth is celebrated...not hindered.
This isn’t rejecting them. This is honoring you.
It’s choosing to stop accepting a version of love that doesn’t nurture your spirit anymore. And yes, it’s painful. But it’s also the most self-respecting, self-loving decision you can make.
People might judge. They might not understand. But protecting your peace is not something you ever owe an explanation for. Some choices are made quietly, privately, and bravely...for the sake of the person you’re becoming.
This has a clinical name. Revenge bedtime procrastination. And the ADHD version runs on a completely different mechanism than the neurotypical one.
A neurotypical person stays up late because they want more leisure time. The ADHD brain stays up because it spent every drop of dopamine it had on executive function during the day. Sitting in meetings, managing transitions, filtering impulses, remembering the thing you were supposed to remember. That burns through dopamine the way sprinting burns through glycogen. By 10pm the tank is empty.
But here's where it gets counterintuitive. The exhaustion is physical. The dopamine deficit is neurological. Those are two separate systems. Your muscles want sleep. Your prefrontal cortex is starving for the stimulation it was denied all day because it spent 14 hours on task-switching and impulse control instead of anything that actually felt rewarding.
The phone at midnight is the brain trying to collect what it's owed. Low-effort, high-stimulation content. Scrolling, short videos, rabbit holes. The exact profile of activity that delivers dopamine without requiring the executive function you already depleted.
The sleep researchers call this a "self-regulation failure." It's closer to a debt collection. You borrowed against your own reward system to function all day. The bill comes due at midnight. And the brain will not let you sleep until it gets paid.
