This is crazy
American mother wants to teach her son the value of a dollar by showing him how much delivery apps are charging
He was about to make his order on Uber Eats, the price is $37.17
His mom drove him to the restaurant, put in the exact same order, and the price was only $20.96
That’s almost double the price for the same order, just because you’re using a delivery app
When Uber Eats first launched a delivery fee was only $3
Now in 2026, studies show delivery orders average 80% more expensive than the same pickup order
Insanity
I want to pay someone $100,000/year or more to talk about pizza and lead the @slice social channels + community
Who are the best social minds in the game?
Brands who’s social presence I admire: @duolingo@Wendys@crumbl@NJGov (they know pizza) and @barstoolsports
Today, millions of people will order pizza. My hope is that more of those orders go to the local shop down the street: the family business that sponsors the Little League team and knows customers by name
Happy Super Sunday from all of us at @slice 🍕❤️🏈
I’ve started evaluating CEOs with a simple rubric I call LOCK:
Lovable. Obsessed. Chip on the shoulder. Knowledgeable.
@winstonweinberg of @Harvey checks every box.
Lovable enough that you’d want to work for him.
Obsessed enough that holidays don’t exist.
A real chip on his shoulder as a non-software founder in Silicon Valley.
And deeply knowledgeable, but never arrogant.
What impressed me? His humility. CEOs get surrounded by praise as they scale. The great ones stay self-critical. Winston does, and he adjusts fast. He learns fast.
He’s what elite scale-up leadership actually looks like.
A more accurate headline should be:
“America Is Falling Out of Love With CHAIN Pizza”
We believe that a big reason for why pizza chains are struggling is because of the rise of the independents
At @slice we call it The Era of Independents 🍕

Last year we partnered with @coinbase and @kate_rouch on one of the coolest brand marketing campaigns you can imagine. At the time, @slice boxes were only available in NYC.
We now have 13 Hubs around the country and can deliver an awesome pizza box brand campaign nationwide.
@MidwestGolfJake@aredubbz Gotta say, same story. Love your content as well…but we couldn’t be further from each other on this one. I think it’s must watch TV and it’s legit the only thing I have set to record. Oh well.
@Mike_kim714 All these guys are the same. “We’re used to benign and boring TPCs so we can shoot the lowest score possible.” What a terrible take from someone I love following.
Might not come as much of a surprise...
but Enterprise Sellers are happiest with their Incentive Comp plans when there is evidence of the outsized earning potential relative to OTE.
Take a look at the below chart.

doesnt matter if quota attainment is terrible - as long as someone in the org is crushing it, the hope lives on.

@tommg12_tom @kburdtweets This is just not true. They were giving away Opening Day tickets. I was a season ticket holder for 21 years up until ‘22 and received emails the morning of the hame from the Sox. If you’re paying this much you’re getting screwed. Again, they can’t give them away in April.
@BendelowGreens Yeesh. Depressing view of the world. Btw, I think the biggest issue I have is with your timeline. If you want to throw a dart against the wall and say 20 years, have at it. But there isn’t a single private club without a waiting list within a 50 mile radius of me.
