@databallr Sixers limited options with Embiid 3yr contract/timeline. Then VJ/Maxey due for big raises.
Swapping JB for PG raises ceiling in that 3 yr dead zone. Hope lower usage JB ups efficiency and defense. Raises team stature for min FA(LeBron?)
At very least next 3 years now relevant.
@databallr Sure, not an engine and not ideal on his contract. But an excellent player who can help you contend. Did not fit into cap for other teams due to value.
But that allowed Sixers to get him. Only team that had 2 bad maxes, one tradable(PG), while stuck with Embiid 3 year timeline.
@DerekBodnerNBA So to me, the Sixers are really just the Warriors, and the Bay Area team should have been called the San Francisco Sailors or some other Bay Area themed name.
At least Wilt came back.
@DerekBodnerNBA The Philadelphia Warriors really are the same franchise. The team was moved to SF and immediately replaced with the Sixers. If this happened today, Philly would have kept the franchise and records and the team moving to start a team in SF would have taken a new name like OKC did.
@NateSilver538 There's going to be people you like and dislike at any social media site.
Some sites allow you to make your own choices about content, while others manipulate feeds to try and generate enough emotional distress to promote engagement. Also the paid blue check thing is annoying.
@AidanLaPorta69 You have to go more All In and use your 1st for an impact wing shooter who has legit gravity and can guard guys over 6'4. Fortunately with McCain emerging they don't have to waste assets on their other weakness, playmaking.
@AidanLaPorta69 I don't think he gets many minutes with Maxey and McCain on the floor 30+.
You need a bigger Wing who can shoot better than Oubre or Martin, not a another small shooter who can't guard up and can't share the floor with M&M.
@oh_sohilarious I'm hoping that Morey signing PG to a 4 year max indicates the Sixers FO expects several more top years out of Embiid. I can't imagine doubling down on another older, injury plagued star if you don't believe your tent pin start will be able to lead you.
@AidanLaPorta69@DabberPatriotic The team has always been great when Embiid is 75% or better. Right now he looks hobbled- and maybe that gets better or maybe it doesn't. He had a minor meniscus procedure more than 9 months ago.
@DabberPatriotic @jmoreno76ers But what injury? He had a minor meniscus clean out 2/6/24 (4-6 week recovery for an otherwise healthy person.)
It's been 9 months and no other injury has been disclosed. Yes he's "ramping up" but I also suspect after many years on a bum knee he is arthritic.
