Was at a dinner recently, with my friend and his father. Long-term relationship. Very cordial.

Both are committed vegetarians. Father an aggressive vegetarian.

Menu was a buffet option, with starters ordered from table itself. They ordered their regular veg stuff, I ordered a mix of chicken, mutton and fish.

Friend is totally cool. He goes his way, and never interferes in others' choices.

Friend's father (79 years) got agitated. "You'll eat non-veg? Here? When I am sitting with you?"

Staring into his eyes, I replied very calmly and gently - "Uncle, I do not peep into your plate. I do not force you to eat meat. Can I please expect reciprocal civil courtesy? Can you stop peeping into my plate and forcing me to live life on your terms? Or is even this basic decency too much to expect? And you do know this is a multi-cuisine place with a common kitchen?"

He went silent.

We had a great meal together. All jokes were back. He enjoyed his meal fully.

I had a friend who used to call me at 4am crying about her boyfriend. I’d wake up, listen, let her vent, and then go back to sleep, more than once. One night I couldn’t sleep, so I thought I’d return the favor and called her at 4am. She answered and told me she was sleeping, & I should call back tomorrow. I’ve raised my ex-girlfriend’s son, Tyler, since he was 1. We split up years ago, but she lets me co-parent because she knows I adore him.
Last week, Tyler got into a bad car accident.

Tyler’s bio-dad (who hasn't seen him in 10 years) was listed on the birth certificate, so they called him.
He showed up, smelled like booze, complaining about the drive.

The bio-dad tried to calm him down. Tyler pushed him away. 'Not you! Get Dave!'
The doctor looked at the bio-dad, then at me standing in the hallway.
The doctor opened the door for me. 'He needs his father,' the doctor said to the bio-dad. 'Please step aside.'

I was on a 4-hour flight. My baby was screaming. I mean, purple-faced, lung-shattering screaming. I tried everything—milk, pacifier, walking the aisle. Nothing worked. Passengers were rolling their eyes, sighing, and putting on headphones. I felt like the worst mom in the world.
Sitting next to me was a giant man. Long greasy hair, beard, leather vest, piercings in his eyebrows. He looked like he walked out of a biker bar fight. I was terrified he was going to yell at me.
Instead, he held out his hands. 'I got three of my own, darlin',' he rumbled. 'You look like you need a break.'
I was so desperate, I handed him the baby.
He rested my son on his massive chest and started humming a low, deep rumble. Within 30 seconds, my baby was asleep.
The scary biker held him for the entire flight so I could nap. When we landed, he handed him back. 'He just needed a sturdy pillow,' he winked.
Kindness comes in all shapes and sizes.

Certainly they're not compensating people that were stranded because my flight was delayed by 11 hours, stranded in the airport for 14 hours and my flight is not even deemed eligible for the compensation

Hi @IndiGo6E - it was announced that passengers who were impacted severely on Dec 3/4/5 will be provided a Rs 10000 compensation. My flight 6E143 was delayed by 10 hours on 4th. How do I get to claim the compensation? What's the process? No further updates after the announcement

Had your flights cancelled by Indigo? Or you voluntarily cancelled your flights ?

Here's my experience on how I got my refund and also a small tip for everyone and anyone who would have booked their tickets using a credit card.

My experience

I cancelled the flight after the Indigo's social media post that they are going to refund the full amount for flights canceled from 5th till 15th December but probably there was a lag in implementation in their system.

I cancelled my mothers flight on 5th however I had only received a partial refund as per the original booking policy, I called next day on 6th and checked with agent and she said there was a cancellation code issue and it was a normal cancellation and not the cancellation under new policy, but worry not she will update the details and process the cancellation and I will receive the refund in under 5 days.

I started waiting and when I didn't get any refund in 5 days, I called again after a very long hold I was connected with Human, when I explained everything she said yes it's under process and so on and on. I felt something is wrong because her answers were fluctuating, hence I requested a written confirmation over the email (I will share why) that's when she was like, ok! Allow me a minute let me process this. This put me on hold and came back with a response that the refund has now been processed and I will receive the same in next few days and I can track it in my bookings.

And yes now the refund was proceed and I could see the same in my card account, what it means was they were trying to delay or take me for a spin.

Now what should you do? If your refund is stuck and more so if any third party is involved?

Make sure to do the good faith attempt as in your attempt to receive the refunds, preferably over email and then fill the dispute with your credit card issuer under Merchant cancelled refund due/Goods and services not refund. Use the Indigo's post from social media as proof that Merchant is processing full refund and let your bank take care of the issue.

This is one of the top reasons why you should own a credit card. People have even got their money from Jet, Go first.

Stop running behind agencies or anyone, your bank will do it and if you had some top issuers like Amex, don't sweat they are the best!
