What should I take away from listening to #dido contemplating a career decision… and remembering that this was what I was listening to 25 years ago contemplating a relationship where I leapt, landed, loved, and learned? Beyond that my music tastes could have evolved, I mean.
Am I the only one who doesn't like how commercial the Grey Cup has become? WestJet bringing in the Grey Cup instead of just the Mounties. Coinbase CEO joining the PM for the coin toss. I guess the CFL needs to be economically viable, but this seems a bit too much. #GreyCup
Buying a set of #Kanto Ora speakers has been an incredible improvement to my computer audio experience. I didn't know what I was missing. Expensive, but worth it.
Share/Rogers disabled my email account for inactivity. Randomly. I forward that account and don't log in directly. Haven't for 20 years. No warning at all, they just shut it off. I use that account to apply for jobs and get bills. No reason to stay with #Shaw anymore.
Guess what I get to do tomorrow? #3blockmodeludl respecting diversity program with middle years! T: Class has a lot of different abilities and I want them to include everyone and work well together. Me: I think I have something that could help....
Today's take away: relationships based on respect and honesty are critically important. Today was a whirlwind, but I appreciate students colleagues and parents trusting me with concerns. Can't solve problems I don't know about... And now that I know we will move forward together.
@Dean_of_math A concern for me is no growth or appreciation of need to grow in our practice. Or maybe that's a leadership challenge. Respect movement, even slow, in positive directions. We can't get there overnight, and might debate where "there" is, but growth and learning are our work.
Take away from this wk: slow down sometimes. Leaders set climate. Things need to get done but we can't always be stressed and busy. Today a gr 1 student was hiding at a door while class watched a movie. She was happy when I pulled up a chair, and we watched together. #sel
@Dean_of_math Hmmm... I wonder whether assessment & grades are a place where Ss get to see if a T really means it. If the T says it's okay to make mistakes and learn from them, there are many ways to learn and show learning... but assessment is one size fits all no redo... Maybe Ss see that?
@Dean_of_math I agree. As it turns out so does provincial policy. "Student grades should be based on evidence selected by the teacher based on the teacher’s professional judgment as to which evidence best reflects the students most recent and consistent learning..."
Wasn't able to get a deal by the way. Things more productive and fun than dealing with @Rogers today include laundry, work, going for a three hour walk, vacuuming. Staring at the wall for three hours would have been equally unproductive but less frustrating. @Rogers#DoBetter.
My sis asked if I had any extra school stuff... LOL is the sky blue? She got two boxes, and I got to clean up. The office isn't fully organized, but at least it's a lot better. #summerprojects
Dining room before versus after. One of the last pieces of furniture from my first apartment upgraded... only took me 20 years. Love the raw wood look of the new table.
