If Texas Tech actually wants to show integrity on both sides, then publicly commit to 2 things & follow through on both:
1) To giving him all of that recovery support.
&
2) To not, under any circumstances, letting him see the field of play this season at an absolute bare minimum
Texas Tech AD Kirby Hocutt releases a statement re: Brendan Sorsby lawsuit.
"Texas Tech is not a party to Brendan's lawsuit. We did not file it. We did not fund it."

@PeteNakos Re: Integrity
Those two things absolutely have to be in conflict. "Clinically diagnosed addiction" or not, there must be consequences for Sorsby's actions- and the price is his career.
The way it's always been, and the way it should be.
@TampaBayTre I always feel for guys like that. It sucks to see highly talented, foundational players spend their entire NFL career withering on the vine with a losing franchise.
2 winning seasons in 12 years... ick.
Felt the same way about Justin Simmons for my Broncos.
@DocStrangelove2 Both on the ground & in the sky, yeah.
- Static trench warfare grinding on for months.
- Mass human wave attacks getting thousands slaughtered.
- Weird looking prototype combat vehicles appearing.
- Small planes & small airborne arms rapidly growing in importance & development.
BROWNS MANDATORY MINICAMP DAY 1!
Here’s how each QB performed in team drills (11v11 and 7v7). Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson were the only QBs to take 11v11 reps.
@COSportsNut . @ChrisHarrisJr is my favorite Bronco period, for many reasons.
- I just love how he played.
- His underdog story going from an UDFA to an All-Decade Team member.
- He pioneered the modern slot corner role, changing the NFL itself.
- And he's from my area.
Actually, it’s stabbing and attempting to behead people which is hateful.
It’s the people committing the crimes who are causing “division” and “outrage”, not the ones who are merely reporting about it.
The judge's decision on Brendan Sorsby is indicative of where we are.
We've confused compassion & empathy with excusing behavior. This is what happens when the person who broke the rules is increasingly viewed as the primary victim.
Accountability is now cruelty.
Embarrassing.
Instances of active players caught betting on their own team:
Pete Rose (MLB): Banned for life
8 White Sox players (MLB): Banned for life
Jontay Porter (NBA): Banned for life
Tucupita Marcano (MLB): Banned for life
Brendan Sorsby (college football): Suspended for 2 games
Honestly, this outcome isn't surprising in a world in which our courts are better known for handing out Get Out of Jail Free cards at an appalling rate than they are for upholding the rule of law or, well, apparently any other kind of rule.
There really aren’t any rules. You just go to court. If it fails, go to court again until a judge says you’re all set.
Want a 7th year?
Sure
Broke rules?
Ahhhh, it’s fine.
There AREN’T any rules.
