📢 Calling ALL Youth Football Players and Coaches 📢
Come learn from our Pascagoula High School coaches and be part of Panther football!
Pascagoula Football in conjunction with City of Pascagoula Parks and Recreation will be hosting a youth football camp and youth coaching clinic this summer.
The Youth Camp for ages 6 to 12 will be June 15 and the Youth Coaches Clinic will be July 13.
Both are FREE!
Youth players can register with the City Parks & Rec for the camp while Coaches can simply show up to the clinic.
🗓️ Mark you calendars! See you there. #WeGoula
Behind almost every great football coach is another coach who:
answered late-night questions
gave them opportunities
challenged them
believed in them before anyone else did
helped them survive the hard years
Nobody builds a great program completely alone.
The best coaches usually had a mentor who helped shape the way they lead today. 💯
It’s a fun offseason topic and we’ll see some more 12- and 13-personnel, but the TE Revolution hype will underwhelm.
Hard part about running heavier packages isn’t rolling extra TEs on the field. It’s having TEs truly worth putting out there.
Versatile heavy sets are not a new concept. They can and have worked. A handful of teams will be successful with it, but most won’t.
Gronk and Hernandez ain’t walking through many of those doors – no matter how many Nate Boerkirchers you overdraft.
I LOVE this! When FM was training at my house years ago this was my biggest message to him & all the other QBs here: Take Ownership of Your Offense! Always ask the WHY, challenge everything (in a good way) & when doing it, you always have to have the knowledge to back it up or it carries no weight!
Very few QBs have the conviction to do this, afraid to step on toes & offend their coach or never gain the knowledge needed! There is only ONE person with ball in their hands when it matters, so you better be comfortable with what you are being asked to do!
I also believe that any GOOD coach would want to talk about the WHY as much as possible & would welcome the challenge to DEFEND their WHY or find a BETTER way of doing something!
A5: This may be a cop out in some ways, but I feel like summer are the days that you remember the most.. the abusive heat, suffering together, going eat together after workouts.. and as coaches, we get so much time to refine scheme and get everything in. All of summer is great!
A4: In a perfect world, I would live in 12 personnel as much as possible. Especially if I had an H that could split out and get me into some 11 looks.
Defensively, back in the day, we were a 3-3-5 personnel with the flexibility to get into a lot of 4-2-5 and 3-4.

A3: I won’t get into new scheme in the interest of keeping some mystery out there 😉
But I’ve spent a lot of time and invested in getting access to a lot of college All-22 film and have enjoyed diving into some similar schemes to what I would like us to look like.

Q3 of the #ALFBChat could be brought by you! Contact for sponsor options!
What is something new/different you have been working on this spring? How has it gone?

Although I also remember trying to defend belly option like “how on earth are we supposed to get enough hats over there to have a chance at stopping this??”
A1: Sheesh… Dad was a straight Delaware Wing-T guy. My first year as an OC we were heavily influenced by Kenny Simpson’s Gun-T.. I gotta go with Buck because of the RPO and option game we were able to run out of the gun, but that’s a tough one!

Thought of a 24-team Playoff format that actually solves basically everything:
• Top 4 teams face off head to head
• The winners play in a “National Championship”
• The other 20 teams are paired up in a meaningful neutral site game to celebrate a great season

Please please don’t get rid of HUDL classic…
Was on the phone with a professional, he did a good job, but…
Coaches get ready, HUDL classic is going away.
Having done both, this is probably it. As a DC, I used to like doing Sudoku and different things on game day to get my brain ready, even get started on next week’s scout. As an OC, I have to save all my energy for Friday night. Brain is on hyperdrive for 2.5 hours.
