@Teachers__Unite Why is it taking OCT months and months to process applicants coming from other provinces/states? Unacceptable when we are in dire need of qualified educators.
@Teachers__Unite We need to ensure education programs are taking students who truly want to teach. Acceptances based on grades alone are unacceptable. Need to find people with real experience and a desire to teach…so much more important than grades.
Excited to share that Josh has been selected to represent Team Canada on the National Bobsleigh team! He will be competing in Whistler, Utah and Europe this season 🇨🇦❤️
@ChandraPasma Universities also have a role to play. They could start with actually accepting students who have an interest in and experience with kids…accepting based on grades only leads to graduates who don’t actually go into teaching.
@GambyVp Don’t forget about French Immersion that starts in JK/SK. Destreaming is also killing the confidence and spirit of so many kids who aren’t able to keep up with the pace. Teachers are doing what they can but high quality PD, training, strategies and time sure would help.
@riversidepucks @IFerritto@JBradshaw01@Sflecce Thank you. Thankfully she’s got full time work as a teaching assistant in a private school so she will take more courses and re-apply. Nevertheless, the system is broken and review and change is necessary if we want the best candidates.
@JBradshaw01 @riversidepucks @Sflecce We also need all Ed programs to require a statement of experience. I know of one uni that only looks at grades. We need applicants that have worked with kids, not just book smart students with high grades. And yes, reduce the program length and cost.
🔵🟡 FINAL 🔵🟡
The Carleton Place Junior Canadians take game one on the road by way of a 4-1 victory.
Game two is this Saturday at 7:30 PM as the Carleton Place Junior Canadians return home! We hope to see you there!

@Teachers__Unite We also have universities accepting applicants on marks alone. No statement of experience required. I’d rather have a B/C student with lots of experience with children than an A student who has never worked with children. The whole system needs an overhaul.
🔵🟡 CLINCHED 🔵🟡
The Carleton Place Junior B Canadians are your regular season Richardson Division champions of @TheEOJHL who clinched the top seed after tonight’s victory at home!
The job is not done.

Great play here by @CPCTier2 Josh Langford ('06 Woodlawn, ON) to set up teammate Jaeden Hirtle ('06 Carp, ON), who scores his 2nd goal in the last 2 games.
@JBradshaw01 My daughter is a natural teacher with a genuine love of children. It would be a shame for her to not teach. We are anxiously waiting to see if she gets accepted to her B.Ed for September 🤞🏼
