This woman works as a house manager for a family of five. With the family heading out on a road trip soon, she’s making sure everything is prepped and ready to go.

She’s tidying up around the house, shopping for the road trip, doing a full van reset, packing snacks for the road trip, prepping bathroom necessities for the toddler, charging all their devices, and even tidying up the mom’s office as a little surprise for her.

It’s honestly impressive how much thought and care she puts into making life run smoothly for this family.

But here’s the twist… at the end of the video, you find out she’s not actually a hired house manager.

She’s the mom.

This is such a good example of how much quiet, behind-the-scenes work moms often do to keep everything running smoothly for their families.

The truth is, you cannot build systems like this exclusively on the logic of profit. You cannot expect to break even in 20 or 30 years. Projects of this scale are built because the government decides they must exist to serve the people.

And this is a problem with systems that are strictly, or overwhelmingly, capitalist. If you leave every problem in your society to the spontaneity of the market, some challenges are so large and so unprofitable that you will never have sufficient incentive to solve them.

As a single mother I am saying this:

Men have a sense of balance when it comes to providing routine and discipline but also support, encouragement, and show unwavering dedication to their children. Men also tend to lead with more logic than emotion while still allowing room for their children to feel and express emotions. They also tend to be able to separate their trauma they’re healing from their responsibilities as a father.

A lot of women (not all but a large majority) don’t know how to balance all of these things on top of not allowing their emotions get the better of them. A lot of women also are jealous of their children, harbor spoken or unspoken resentment toward them for a broken home, or refuse to break the cycle of trauma in some capacity. Hell, some women with a partner struggle with this as well but it can become more apparent when single.
