@GoodFundies lol take away his name.. bad defensive LF’er, 3 decreasing OPS years in a row, 33 years old.. not a chance he gets a good deal. I liked Nimmo a lot.. when he played CF, didn’t have plantar fascitis and had a .400 OBP. It’s not the same Nimmo we loved, it just isn’t.
@LockedOnMets Oh brother, we entered the szn with 6 major league starters (all healthy) + Scott and Tong. Simply put, if that isn't enough to get it done, it's on the players. You can't just say "Stearns should have gotten 3 new pitchers instead of senga, Mannea and Peterson". It's insane.
@Mets2026 I didn't initially buy into it, but his peripheral stats were always AWFUL and always pointed to major regression. I thought the hip surgery was the fix, but he is just not getting his sinker down consistently. He also bizarrely doesn't throw or locate his backfoot slider anymore
@ScottKarvelis@RuggDzy@robweird lol this is a random thing that random idiots say when players fail in NY. It mainly only applies to the Yankees. If you think Bo “can’t handle NY” instead of just having a shit yr, you are just making excuses for him at this point.
@NYMNYR1@SNY_Mets@SNYtv That’s fair.. but PCA was good for half a year, James wood.. half a year. Plenty of young guys are only good for half a year. It’s super hard to be good for a full year. That’s superstar land, maybe 7 guys do that? If you are lucky.
@ernestdove Sure, I guess I just get frustrated by all the Mets fans freaking out and hyper analyzing every Stearns move. I too wish he made all the best moves and didn’t do all the bad moves.
@ernestdove Sorry if I didn’t fully explain, I wanted Contreras + hated Bo, yet I’m not sitting here saying IF ONLY WE HAD DONE ALL THESE MOVES. I understand why we did them, some moves work some don’t, no GM bats 1.000. Dodgers sign Diaz, Tucker, snell, glasnow. Plenty of mid - bad moves.
@GoodFundies No, that’s not how u handle a top prospect. Also, that means you built your roster off injury? That’s how you fuck up Baty by yoinking him
around position-less “oh we will get you ABs”. You are wrong, but you are confident. Confidently wrong. Impressive. Stupid, but impressive.
@GoodFundies Up.. where? Forcing Nimmo and Soto to DH? Both who said they don’t want to? Playing CF every 3rd game for Robert? 0 chance lol. There’s not even an argument for this.
@PitchingNinja Fair, makes sense. On the slow cam it looks like it's at a much lower starting point though, so I wonder how successful he will be over time on throwing a low fastball + split the drops so much out of the zone. Looking great right now tho.
@commishpjn@SNY_Mets@SNYtv@WillSammon Your example is the league where the players get screwed the most with non guaranteed contracts, constantly getting cut, injured and CTE.. and that’s what you think should convince David to adopt that?

@Roger774501171 Prob needs time to adjust, but really a shame to see. It can't be a "philosophy" problem when it's a dude who is a .298 career hitter. He knows how to hit, no coach or philosophy will change that. He just isn't executing, simple as that.
@GoodFundies Lol, no, sorry. It's been clear to Vientos for 2 years that his only long term space is 1b or DH. Totally on him if he can't hit enough for DH or play competent enough defense for 1b. He's in the MLB, he doesn't need to be "told" he should practice 1b defense.
@runwildkian That's true for guys like Baty, Vientos, Mannea, Senga, Peterson... but it isn't true for guys like Bo, Polanco, Robert, Lindor. Really the issue is Bo is like the worst qualified hitter in baseball and has been in top 4 of our lineup the whole yr + the injuries.
