#OTD in 1991 Buffalo Bills 51- Raiders 3. 41-3 at the half. 502 total yards. Kenny Davis 3 rushing TDs. 6 INTS including Talley's pick 6. After years of irrelevance, the Buffalo Bills are going to their first Super Bowl!
With today’s win, Josh Allen surpassed Russell Wilson (75) for the most regular season wins by a QB in their first 7 NFL seasons.
Allen now has the most wins (76), total TDs (262) & total yards (30,595) by any player all-time in their first 7 seasons.
#OTD in 1988 the Buffalo Bills improve to 11-1 and clinch the AFC East with a week 12 9-6 overtime win over the New York Jets. Fred Smerlas' block of a Pat Leahy kick with 25 seconds left sends the game into OT where Scott Norwood would end it with a 30-yard FG.
#OTD in 1995 a scary scene as Jet rookie tackle Everett McIver decided to taunt Bruce Smith before the game. Not a good idea as Bruce knocked Boomer Esiason unconscious in a 29-10 Bills win. BTW, the penalty was on McIver, not Bruce Smith.
#OTD in 1992 the Buffalo Bills destroy old friend Ted Marchibroda 38-0 to go 3-0 on the season. Henry Jones scores twice on interceptions while rookie John Fina has his only career reception, a 1 yard TD catch. Bruce Smith will account for 3 of the Bills 5 sacks on the day.
For no reason in particular I decided to recreate the endzone form the Bills Comeback game in January 1993. If you look at footage of the game, it may seem like the turf was well worn, which is true, but it had just been replaced after the Raiders AFCCG in January 1991.
#OTD in 1990 the K-Gun is born as the Buffalo Bills introduce it and run wild on the Eagles 24-0 after 1 quarter. The Eagles come back thanks to a 95-yard Randall Cunningham TD pass just before the half and pull to within one. Two Norwood FGs seal the 30-23 Bills win.
There has been 590+ Playoff Games in NFL History.
Josh Allen becomes the very 1st player to have 300+ Passing Yards, 5+ Passing TDs, & 60+ Rushing Yards in a single playoff game.
The Bills have scored 47+ points in a playoff game for the 2nd time in team history (1991).
