Some fans might not appreciate the problem with calling 4 verts against Cover 4 defense. 4 verts works against Cover 2 and 3 because of simple math: the defense has either 2 or 3 deep zone defenders and they can’t cover all 4 vertical receivers. But with 4 defenders dropping deep? No one will be free. You’re asking your QB to thread a perfect pass 20 yards downfield with zero margin for error. In a long list of bad play calls, this has to top the list.
