@steipete think this one is defensible under UDRP arbitration. It is non-commercial, and while confusingly similar, the .RIP extension and content clarifies it as a critique site. This makes it protected speech, though it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

ICANN’s next gTLD application window opens in late April, the first opportunity since 2012 for brands to apply for their own branded top-level domain.

In the last round, most enterprise conversations centered on brand marketing and defensive strategy, and that framing carried through for years.

In this round, the opportunity extends into security architecture and control over identity and service provenance.

My only advice to CEOs this year..

Hire tinkerers.

Make it high status.

Find ones that will explore the edges and (ideally) naturally gifted at teaching people.

Empower them to freely roam across the org and fix large problems that can be automated.

All your execs will complain that these tinkerers don’t understand scale or systems (rollout being a favorite word).

Listen, and ignore them. Or even better give them budget to hire a tinkerer to achieve their targets.

Give these tinkerers ambition, purpose and hard targets and watch them fly.
