I'm really honored by this. And I think it's a great time to talk about how I got here.
Some folks may have noticed I disappeared from the tech world for a period. This is about what happened and how I recovered.

@pinskinator I’ve worked places where your solution could be rejected because it wasn’t good enough. Valid on a technical level but not reflective of the quality bar we expect to present.
Does anyone here work in an engineering organization that has a "Definition Of Good"?
There's countless ways to solving a problem that may be technically correct, but not all of them are "good".
I know definitions of done and of ready. But what about good?
@pinskinator Say one team thinks their solutions should Just Work OOB for devs and another thinks their services should be a gated service which requires tickets to them.
What do you do when they all have technically valid solutions but are worlds apart in approach?
@zack_overflow Finally, both SF and Boston having housing shortages. Even I'm being priced out of here. But I can see construction and new buildings going up.
I don't think I saw one crane in SF or new building being built. That made me assume hosuing isn't being meaniungfully addressed.
millennial men were too busy quoting anchorman and figuring out new, innovative ways to sack tap each other to get radicalized by the far right and I love them for that.
There is nothing like this from the left that can build an alternate reality. It was amazing to me how suddenly half this country thought the economy was good in 2017 with no substantive change.
How do you deal with half the country living in a weird echo chamber?
