Family farm bankruptcies in the United States are sharply rising and rapidly accelerating.

2025 filings increased 46% nationwide, Midwest filings jumped 70%, and Illinois filings rose 55%.

There have been 62 Chapter 12 farm bankruptcies in April 2026 alone, a 130% year-over-year increase.

Just to be clear, Chapter 12 bankruptcy requires a family to earn a majority of their income from the farm, so a lot of smaller operations that might rely on non-farming jobs just to survive don't even qualify.

This means the actual level of financial distress that family farms are facing is much higher than the bankruptcy data suggests.

The USDA projects total farm debt will rise to a record $624.7 billion in 2026.

Keep your eyes on this. The control of our nation's farmland and our food production are being stripped from American families, and consolidated into much larger operations driven by the interests of powerful investors who want to own our country and our people.

The San Jose Police Department has declared an unlawful assembly and in the name of the People of the State of California, order all those assembled at Santa Clara St and Almaden Ave to immediately disperse, which means to break up this assembly. If you do not do so, you may be arrested. You may also be subject to other police action including the use of an acoustic hailing device, projectile impact weapons, and chemical agents, which include foam baton rounds, beanbag rounds, tear gas, CN, CS, OC, or pepper spray. Use of these devices or other police action could result in serious injury.

Penal Code section 409 prohibits remaining present at an unlawful assembly, which means that you must leave the area I just described. If you remain in the area I just described, you will be in violation of Penal Code section 409. The following routes of safe dispersal are available -northbound on Almaden Ave away from Santa Clara St. It is now 11:35 PM and you have 10 min to disperse.
