@DrDiGiorgio Because they know many people are desperate and will find a way to pay for it, or get sick and die. If they covered it everyone would be on it. I’m not opposed but they don’t wanna lose that $$ for life. They hope they die of weight complications first

@StevePhillipsMD @TakeWeightOffMD I agree, a problem is so many of them received offers to sell to PE or large corporate groups so docs aren’t treated the same. I don’t blame them necessarily, it’d be hard to look millions in the face and turn away but it did have a bad effect down the line

@HeathVeuleman @cms Our group just hired two admins to take the place of one that left. Then the new people had a meeting with us to help ideas flow for cost saving measures. We are already the most profitable division but that also means docs make more than other divisions so admin wants a cut

@pgipe @DrOzCMS But hospitals can bill full price (individual codes)for multiple procedures done at once. Ie The anesthesia bill for a hospital procedure is full price for each procedure even though only one service happened(not the doc providing the service, just the hospital portion).

@SBlockspy @mcuban I think sometimes. Quality and review of doctor would still matter but for non emergent procedures for sure. Plastics get shopped around because it’s rarely covered.

@DrDiGiorgio Husband had 2-3 sinus procedures simultaneously-Surgeon can’t bill for each procedure but hospital did. Total bill was in the thousands. ~1000 for anesthesia doc, several thousands to hospital and only $300 to surgeon. Crazy!

@elonmusk Yes! My brother was killed by an uninsured drunk driver on a revoked license driving her daughter’s car without permission. She had 13 bench warrants and was again let out almost the same day we buried my brother. These judges have blood on their hands.
