An update on the research reliability (SRE) team and tmu at OpenAI: https://t.co/Wthd4NPv68
(yes, that kind of update). :-)
I don't often use twitter but it is something of a habit/fetish of some people so thought it would be useful to post here as well.
@McJeff (obligatory: Surprised this site is still on. Came here to check one specific thing and here this was).
I was there recently. It's all weird, anti-city hype. SF is fine. I was in Union Square, the mission and even walked through Civic Center at night. Fine. No poop. Few drugs.
Now I want all my favorite shows in lots of languages. In particular, I want all my Latin American news/commentary in English/Spanish both! I used to do translation so I know how hard it is, but I don't care. I want it. @LatinoUSA : ¿que creen ustedes? @Maria_Hinojosa@julito77
He estado escuchando la 2nda temporada de L Brega de @AlanaLlama . Coño, quánto me encata. Para Boricuas y les demás. Escúchanlo:

(Amazing podcast about Puerto Rico that's also in English for the rest of you).
@brettabecker@ShriramKMurthi@gohar94@Joel_Emer@vivsze I'll be honest: I've seen careful analysts publishing extremely detailed estimates of the "cost per query" for stuff I know relatively well many times. The most recent one I saw was off by a factor of 10. It doesn't matter in which direction, just that it was that far off. YMMV
@ShriramKMurthi@gohar94@Joel_Emer@vivsze Also depends on where the energy comes from. Google as a whole has been carbon neutral including all datacenter power since 2007. Microsoft has pledges to become carbon negative (not sure progress). In general, power analyses here ignore this.
(not really using twitter much anymore, as i've noticed most of you are not either) but i spotted this over here.

It's incredible and humbling that people are reading the book that we wrote. I sincerely hope it is useful and that when we fall short that we are able to learn from that.
We're super happy to support book clubs reading it.
Thanks, @sophiamyang !
