Q+A with Industry Execs
🎮
As everyone in the business knows, esports teams don’t actually make $ from esports (yes I know the Venn Diagram)
@FaZeClan has always been a lifestyle brand. Good to see it finally being acknowledged.
-Incorrect ad sizes
-Blue Triangle ad banners
-Auto clicking ads
-Interrupts gameplay
The in-game ad companies are ruining this space.
Simply because of this: You cant’ just plug in ad exchanges and expect them to work for games. Period.
So your entire esports industry market revenue estimate is based on 23 partners of which 22 are teams (44% of the total rev), so no actual real data from:
-Leagues (LOL,OWL,CDL,etc.)
-Any publishers like EA/ATVI/Tencent
-CPG/Apparel/Other companies
-Startups

There's currently someone streaming to a 5K audience.
🧵1/ With the continued antiquated notion of most Fortune 500 Brands re: gaming/esports audience being "boys in the basement", there's a hidden stat missed for years.
The gaming audience is a great target for marketers trying to reach a lucrative audience: New Families.
Stats:
With @TencentGlobal looking to merge Chinese streaming platforms Huya and Douyu, an estimate of the combined company:
