The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bull**** story you keep telling yourself as to why you can't achieve it.”

What are Dark Patterns and its types ?
The term “dark patterns” was first coined by UX specialist Harry Brignull to describe the ways in which software can subtly trick users into doing things they didn’t mean to do, or discouraging behavior that’s bad for the company.

Dark patterns are unethical design that manipulates or heavily influences users to make certain choices from companies to entice users to pay up for things, and services they would normally not have shelled out money for.
Such tactics involve unethical user interface designs that may make your internet experience harder than it should be in order to even exploit you.
Dark patterns affect the user experience and even make them vulnerable to financial and data exploitation by Big Tech firms. Dark patterns may confuse users, and introduce online obstacles that make a simple function take too much of time.
The Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India has given following types of Dark Patterns
1)False Urgency: This tactic creates a sense of urgency or scarcity to pressure consumers into making a purchase or taking an action.
2)Basket Sneaking: Websites or apps use dark patterns to add additional products or services to the shopping cart without user consent.
3)Subscription Traps: This tactic makes it easy for consumers to sign up for a service but difficult for them to cancel it, often by hiding the cancellation option or requiring multiple steps.
4)Confirm Shaming: It involves guilt as a way to make consumers adhere. It criticizes or attack consumers for not conforming to a particular belief or viewpoint.
5)Forced Action: This involves forcing consumers into taking an action they may not want to take, such as signing up for a service in order to access content.
6)Nagging: It refers to persistent, repetitive and annoyingly constant criticism, complaints, requests for action.
7)Interface Interference: This tactic involves making it difficult for consumers to take certain actions, such as canceling a subscription or deleting an account.
8)Bait and Switch: This involves advertising one product or service but delivering another, often of lower quality.
9)Hidden Costs: This tactic involves hiding additional costs from consumers until they are already committed to making a purchase.
10)Disguised Ads: Disguised ads are advertisements that are designed to look like other types of content, such as news articles or user-generated content.

How to get better at answer writing?
By doing it. By writing answers every day. There is no secret formula. There are no tips and tricks.
Few things you can keep in mind while practising answer writing:
(10 points)
1. Follow a structure. Introduction, main body, solution, conclusion and way ahead.
2. Your mind should have the mind map, the clarity of what you will write (at least 3 points if not about the entire answer)
3. In the initial days, make mind maps on a rough page that includes all the various dimensions you can write.
4. Do not write in long paragraphs. Write in points or write in shorter sentences.
5. Give a visual feel to your answers - including figures, boxes, flow charts
6. When you can't understand a question, break it into smaller parts. Look for keywords. And write.
7. Focus on writing an introduction that induces curiosity and a conclusion that gives a solution.
8. Do not whine or complain in your answers. Trying to be an officer? Talk like an officer. Write like an officer.
9. Initially while you practise, it's okay if you don't stick to the word count. Bcs initially, the focus is not on answers but it is on WRITING.
10. In the end, always remember that everything gets better with time. Everyday practice improves everything.
Hops this helps.
