【『METAL SLUG 2』見逃されがちなドラマ】

アイテムを掘り出してくれる作業員たちが、ミイラに追われて穴から這い出て来たと思ったら、怪しいブレスを浴びて自らもミイラにされてしまう。
そんなシーンを見せといて、このステージでこのあと自分たちの身に起きることを予感させるような、冒険活劇の導入みたいにしたかったんです。

でもプレイヤーは、初プレイでもバリバリ連射しながら、アイテムを掘ってくれる作業員を無視して、ピョンピョン飛び越えて行ってしまうし、作業員をミイラ化させるはずのミイラは、穴の中で姿を見せる前にバリバリ連射で倒されていました…。

当時、レベル配置担当は、私がイメージした演出を、どうやれば効果的に魅せる事ができるのか、あまり深く考えなかったんですよね…。
サクサク進むのも気持ち良いんですが、ロケテストで皆さんのプレイを見てる時、「そこのドラマを見逃さないで～！」と、ゲーセンの大音量の中、よく叫んだものです。
