It marks a crucial phase of crop protection and transition of the growing rice season. During the festivities, the families come together to offer prayers for a bountiful harvest and is celebrated with lighting of lamps near the plant of holy basil (Tulsi) and across paddy fields.

India's #RealGDP Growth Accelerates to 7.8%!

The Indian economy began this year on a strong trajectory, with real GDP estimated at INR 81.36 Lakh Cr (Q1 FY 2026-27), recording a 7.8% rise despite prevailing global uncertainty.

Key Growth Drivers:

1. Growth Accelerators Across #Sectors: Primary sector: 2.9%, Secondary sector: 8.6%, Tertiary sector: 10.0%, Financial, real estate, IT & professional services: 12.1%

2. Demand-Side Momentum & Investments: Investments rose by 11.9%; household consumption grew 7.1% and exports grew by 12.0%. Credit to industry and services grew 20.0% and 22.9%, respectively, in July 2026.

3. #IndustrialProduction: Grew by 6.7% (July 2026), compared to 5.4% last year. It increased by 6.3% in April-July 2026-27 compared to 4.0% in the same period last year.

4. Capital goods production: Rose by 16.1% in July 2026 over July 2025. Intermediate goods increased by 10.0% and infrastructure and construction goods by 6.9%.

5. Combined Merchandise & Services #Exports: Reached an estimated USD 80.14 billion in July 2026, increasing by 13.31% over July 2025.

6. Cumulative Exports: During April-July 2026-27, cumulative exports were estimated at USD 316.42 billion. This is 13.16% higher than the USD 279.63 billion recorded during April-July 2025-26.

More recent indicators show that this strength has carried beyond the first quarter, marking a great start for FY27!

2. Refinement of Press Note 3 (#PN3): Relaxed strict prior-approval requirements under PN3 (2020) by allowing foreign entities with non-controlling beneficial ownership of up to 10% from Land Bordering Countries (#LBCs) to invest in India.

On 25 September 2014, the 'Make In India' initiative was established, and it has subsequently expanded under '#MakeinIndia2.0'.

Key Structural & Economic Milestones:

1. Manufacturing Gross Value Added (#GVA) at constant prices recorded a compound annual growth rate of 10.88% (2022-23 & 2025-26).

2. Production across heavy engineering equipment and various capital goods sub-sectors increased from INR 2,87,233 Cr (2019-20) to INR 5,69,900 Cr (2024-25).

3. Cumulative #FDI reached USD 843 Billion (2014-15 to 2025-26), rising 169% over the preceding 12-year period.

4. #StartupIndia recognised 2.54 Lac entities (Sept 2026). Make in India 2.0 aims to strengthen #DeepTech #startups.

5. Production Linked Incentive (#PLI) schemes supported INR 15.5+ Lac Cr in exports and created 14.6 Lac jobs (June 2026).

6. National Single Window System (#NSWS) onboarded 5.69+ Lac business entities, handling an average of 3.06+ Lac applications annually (Sept 2026).

7. India Industrial Land Bank (#IILB), the #GIS-enabled platform, mapped 4,220 industrial parks, covering 6.98 Lac hectares (May 2026).
