India's #RealGDP Growth Accelerates to 7.8%!

The Indian economy began this year on a strong trajectory, with real GDP estimated at INR 81.36 Lakh Cr (Q1 FY 2026-27), recording a 7.8% rise despite prevailing global uncertainty.

Key Growth Drivers:

1. Growth Accelerators Across #Sectors: Primary sector: 2.9%, Secondary sector: 8.6%, Tertiary sector: 10.0%, Financial, real estate, IT & professional services: 12.1%

2. Demand-Side Momentum & Investments: Investments rose by 11.9%; household consumption grew 7.1% and exports grew by 12.0%. Credit to industry and services grew 20.0% and 22.9%, respectively, in July 2026.

3. #IndustrialProduction: Grew by 6.7% (July 2026), compared to 5.4% last year. It increased by 6.3% in April-July 2026-27 compared to 4.0% in the same period last year.

4. Capital goods production: Rose by 16.1% in July 2026 over July 2025. Intermediate goods increased by 10.0% and infrastructure and construction goods by 6.9%.

5. Combined Merchandise & Services #Exports: Reached an estimated USD 80.14 billion in July 2026, increasing by 13.31% over July 2025.

6. Cumulative Exports: During April-July 2026-27, cumulative exports were estimated at USD 316.42 billion. This is 13.16% higher than the USD 279.63 billion recorded during April-July 2025-26.

More recent indicators show that this strength has carried beyond the first quarter, marking a great start for FY27!

4. Firewall for New Industrial Relations Code (#LaborReforms): The Bench clarified that its decision does not determine the interpretation of “industry” under the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, leaving the new statutory framework to operate independently.

The Supreme Court’s ruling provides greater legal clarity and regulatory certainty for workers, public institutions and corporate enterprises, with significant implications for employers, employees, educational and charitable institutions, welfare bodies and other organisations across #India.

In these turbulent times of wars in Europe and Middle East, we join with the Global Community to align with the theme for 2026 i.e. “#InvestInPeace - For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.”

Established in 1981, this day was initially designated to coincide with the opening session of the General Assembly. However, following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the UN officially fixed September 21 (9/11) as an annual dedicated day of global ceasefire and non-violence.

It’s a practice to observe a silence of a minute at 12:00 noon local time, to honor architects of peace and reaffirm our shared responsibility toward a balanced and stable world.

At Lex Terrae, we remember this Day and hope that the World Leaders shall work towards sustainable peace, based upon rule of law and fair dialogue. Wishing everyone a harmonious International Day of Peace!
